MS
- didn't expect the hardware sales to grow as much as they did
- gears 2 is in the process of being properly localized for JP, some stuff must be cut
- not considering BD version of 360. they slyly dodge the question of a slim 360, but seems something will happen

Bandai Namco
- surprised how well ToV sold. Gundam Musou 2 also did well
- Naruto Narutimate Storm (sp?) showed Japan's ability to put out a "super anime" game, or something
- plan to release 5-6 games on 360 this year. since it's HD they are all big titles
- some new IP
- i-mas DLC sales were a massive surprise. even though they don't sell overseas, the dev costs are totally covered

Bethesda
- bully and fallout 3 left a good impression
- the cancellation of star trek legacy was because the contract had run out, even though the dev was basically done
- fallout 3 sales were good
- will release multiple titles in 2009, including a surprising big project using another firm's IP
- will not release any games with an average review score less than 80

Capcom
- RE5 will sell 5-6 million. Within Japan, expect sales of 500k on one of the platforms
- demo was very popular
- 2009 will be multi-platform year
- sequels to Dead Rising and Lost Planet will be put out. They'll be multiplatform, but the 360 versions will have something a little different

Codemasters
- will probably release Dirt in japan too (Grid came out this month)
- thinking about a sequel to Overlord
- Xbox users love their games hmmmm ébom ouvir, e mais? :007:

EA
- Japan can expect Dante's Inferno
- considering selling retail games online, like they are doing with ps3
- will release close to 2008's number of games (17) this year

Atlus
- developing for 360

5pb
- putting lots of effort into 360 this year
- 3D is expensive so prefer 2D dev
- shooting games future will depend on how well dodonpachi and ketsui sell

From Software
- Ninja Blade coming out simultaneously worldwide (is it!?)
- Developing a 360 only game after Ninja Blade will be very difficult, waiting to see how the Japan market goes

Koei
- gundam musou 2 sold 60k on 360, feeling some positive response from the market podia ter sido melhor :007:
- including ports, will release quite a few games this year
- planning some new IP too
- will also make full use of Tecmo's skills

Q
- Mizuguchi not involved much in N3 II - devs are feelplus
- info will come out in spring
- planning collaboration with atari

Sega
- feel 360 is holding up well
- planning a (some?) big title besides Bayonetta. it's multi but they expect 360 owners will be happy nevertheless - Epá mandem mas é o Valkyria Chronicles!!

Capcom has told CVG that the earlier Inafune quote from the latest copy of Famitsu regarding a sequel to Dead Rising is a “mistranslation.”

“Dead Rising was a huge success for us and is obviously the kind of game we’d like to continue to make,” said the rep.

However, at the moment we have made no official announcement regarding a sequel. As the source is Famitsu, I can only suggest that it was a mistranslation.”

Rumour: Crackdown 1.5 out “early 2010″, Ruffian IS working on it despite Realtime Worlds statement

It’s not going away, and it sounds as though you’re about to hear an awful lot more about it. Newly formed Scottish developer Ruffian is most certainly working on a new Crackdown game, says “rumour” today, and apparently it’s scheduled for the end of 2009 or early 2010.

The project’s being called “Crackdown 1.5″ in the UK trade, and it’s set in the same city as the original Realtime Worlds 360 classic. Multiplayer’s going to play a massive part in the game, aparently, moreso than the new single-player stuff.

Just a hunch: you might hear more about this… tomorrow. Life on the edge, and all that.
Realtime Worlds put out a statement at the end of December saying the firm was in ongoing negotiations with Microsoft about continuing the franchise as a reaction to rumour that Ruffian had picked up a second game.

Ruffian - the Dundee-based developer comprised largely of ex-Crackdown staffers - was confirmed as open in late January.

Mais HALO...

Halo to expand in "many different directions

Microsoft Game Studios hopes to expand the Halo franchise in "many different directions", including new genres and entertainment not game-related at all.

"We tend to view the franchise side of Halo as an entertainment property, and something that we hope to expand in many different directions: both through additional genres of gaming and additional ways to tell the story that may not be game-related at all," Jason Pace, Halo Wars lead producer and Halo franchise overseer, told Eurogamer.

"So I think it's fair to say we're always looking for new opportunities, new genres to tell the story in. And whenever we find a great fit we'll pursue it."
Jason Pace will help bring Halo Wars and Halo 3: ODST to market this year. And, when pushed about the future, he told us: "Those are the only projects I can discuss at the moment".
But what about the Peter Jackson Halo project Microsoft announced at X06 and has been recruiting for ever since?

"That I'm not at liberty to comment on," said Pace.

A Halo Wars demo will be available from Xbox Live Marketplace from 5th February, before the full game launches exclusively for Xbox 360 on 27th February.

Look out for our Halo Wars Eurogamer TV Show soon to find out more.

Exit 2, Xbox bound!

As quiet as Microsoft can try and be it seems that ESRB isn't so private about upcoming titles. On ESRB's official site they have a new posting officially making it clear that Exit 2 will be headed to the Xbox 360, very likely through Xbox Live Arcade.

EXIT 2

Platform: Xbox 360

Rating: Everyone

Content descriptors: Cartoon Violence

Rating summary: This is an action puzzle game in which players navigate a small character through various hazards (e.g., fire, electrical waves, alien attacks) in an attempt to rescue civilians trapped in buildings. Players must set a path for the character that allows them to reach the exit without harming themselves or civilians. If players choose a dangerous path, the character may die from fire, drowning, electricity, or other hazards, and then must start the round over.
-- ESRB
According to this Exit 2 will be rated E and will continue the tradition of citizen-saving puzzles. No release date has been set or at least made clear so when the title will be released is nothing but speculation at this point. However, it's on its way and those who were fans of the first title definitely have something to look forward to here as developers Taito looks to continue the excitement it started with the first title.

;)

^E de jogos Live! Arcade ainda temos pelo menos o Puzzle Quest: Galactrix, R-Type, FF IV: The After (se for confirmado), Final Fantasy: Crystal Defeneders, Arkanoid Live!, e mais uns quantos, portanto está a começar bem neste departamento.

Mensagem de Welcome:

“Japanese game companies are notorious for not “getting it”. They are thought of as slow moving, orthodox, and out of touch. One of the places where Japanese companies seem to not “get it” is community. Sure, you may have an American branch leading a great community effort, but it is very rare for a Japanese company to reach out in a meaningful way to its Western users.

“PlatinumGames.com is our attempt at getting it right. It isn’t simply a translation of our Japanese webpage. It is part corporate homepage, part purpose built community portal. We want you to know who we are, but we also want to know who you are. PlatinumGames is not only about our creators, or our titles, it is about our fans. We want you to gather around our titles and interact with PlatinumGames staff and other fans. We want to involve you in our process of creation, and we want to be involved in your experience after you’ve paid your hard earned dollars for the fruits of our hard work. A game really isn’t finished until a user is finished playing it. We want to be there with you every step of the way.”

"While our blogs and forums are a big part of the site, we realize you might want to actually see and hear from us. That is why we’ve created PGTV, our video podcast series that will give you an inside look at PlatinumGames and a seat at the table with our most talented creators. From interviews to behind the scenes looks, it will be the source of some of our most exciting content. Finally, we want to meet and greet as many of you as we can, so we plan on having community get-togethers whenever we get the chance, be it in LA, London, or Leipzig."

According to a job listing posted on Gamasutra, 2K Boston’s next game will be a huge departure from its single player-focused descent into madness, BioShock. Pulling a complete 180, the game will instead be an “action-packed AAA multiplayer title.”

“The BioShock team is betting big on multiplayer and plans to stay at the top of the charts– we’re careful about the problems we tackle, innovative in our approach, solid in our implementation, and we polish the heck out of everything we do,” reads the listing.
“Right now we’re looking for an exceptional individual to direct the development of this multiplayer experience through a combination of leadership, design, coding, and daily problem solving on the gameplay networking and backend server components.”

As of now, three platforms can barely be seen amongst a forest of question marks: PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. Not surprising, since the title runs on a version of Epic’s Unreal Engine 3.
Somehow, we doubt 2K will have much trouble filling this position.

A spokesperson from Microsoft that it indeed has atleast two new properties that have been in development for quite sometime, he goes on to say -
“We’ve always focused our attention in the year of operation concerned, I would safely say that our community will see atleast two new games being announced exclusive to the Xbox 360 console by the end of Q1 2009″

http://v4vg.com/rumor-microsoft-to-announce-two-new-ip’s-by-q1-2009/

A bit of probing also revealed that one might actually be an online fighter based on a very popular franchise, the other is an action adventure game from one of their internal studios. Well it seems Microsoft is far from giving up this generation without a solid fight.

Ja o outro, faço minhas as palavras do Pure...

Hmmm Dead Rising 2? Muito suspeito mas cá vai...

A supposed shakycam video of Dead Rising 2 has just surfaced on YouTube, and sources close to Capcom have promised us it’s the real thing.

We contacted Capcom to be told by a rep that he had personally not seen this video, but as far as Dead Rising 2 goes, nothing has “officially” been confirmed nor released at this time.

Judge for yourself after the break — if you can make anything out of the fuzziness.

Devia era ter sido mais cedo....

Rare restuctures, lay-offs possible

Rare’s “restructuring” its studio, and potentially shedding staff.
“As the entire industry struggles to address the increasing scale and cost of development, we too have felt a need to restructure our current approach so we can speed development and better manage the scale required to create high quality games,” said Mark Betteridge, studio manager.
“With four projects recently underway, now is the right time to make this change. Throughout its history, Rare has demonstrated a willingness to embrace new approaches and commitment to delivering game-changing experiences to our customers.
“This announcement is no different and builds on that tradition as we work with MGS to make interactive entertainment as culturally relevant in people’s lives as books, movies and television are today.”

Microsoft: We’ve said our piece on Rare restructuring

Microsoft PR has refused to confirm or deny whether or not staff are to be shed at Rare this morning, following confirmation that the studio is to be restructured.
“To be honest, we have nothing to add to the statement,” a spokesperson told VG247.
“We’ve come out and said, ‘This is what’s going on,’ to avoid any confusion. We feel that we’ve said our piece and don’t want to say anything more.”

Insiders have intimated this morning that proposed staffing changes are “serious”.
Rare issued a statement earlier today saying that now was the time to “restructure our current approach so we can speed development and better manage the scale required to create high quality games.”

Rare published four projects last year, namely a second Viva title, a DS Viva, Banjo Nuts & Bolts and Avatars for NXE.

Novo jogo Capcom!?
Capcom’s confirmed that it’s to announce a new game on February 23.

A first trailer for the unknown title is to be release on Xbox Live Marketplace.

Doesn’t sounds as though you’re going to be able to get it anywhere else: according to this blog post, you’ll need access to Live to see it.
Street Fighter V, innit.

Devil May Cry 5? :O

Rare has reportedly laid off around 12 artists and engineers, following confirmation this week that the studio was to be restructured.

The company is also reducing the number of project leads, according to this GI report, asking employees to reapply for positions elsewhere within the company.

Rare studio manager Mark Betteridge said on Tuesday that structural alterations were necessary at the studio to “speed development and better manage the scale required to create high quality games”.

The Force is very unbalance my padwan :p
