PC Max Payne 3 (Rockstar Vancouver)

The official story: Given Rockstar Games' semi-autonomous nature inside Take-Two's corporate structure, Take-Two reps passed along GameSpot's inquires to the New York-based publisher, which had closed for the day. However, it's worth noting that in the same phone call, Zelnick promised "sequels to some of Rockstar's AAA titles" were set for Take-Two's 2009 financial year, which begins on November 1--leading many to speculate Max Payne 3 could be among them.

Bogus or not bogus?: Bogus that Max Payne 3 has been announced for 2009. However, the fact Take-Two has repeatedly said there will be a new installment in the Max Payne franchise makes it seem like there will almost certainly be one...eventually.

Washington (dbTechno) - Sources are stating that Rockstar is currently working on a new Max Payne for release in 2009 on the Xbox 360 and PS3. This would likely launch alongside with the launch of the movie, which stars Mark Walhberg. Take-Two had a conference call to investors yesterday, stating that once Rockstar finishes up on GTA IV, they are moving on to release a sequel to another big franchise for release in 2009.
Many have been speculating what exactly this sequel could be, with ideas pointing towards a new Bully, Manhunt, or something else.
It appears that the new franchise entry they are talking about will be a new Max Payne game.
Max Payne gained a lot of attention as a franchise, releasing originally on the PC and then on the PS2 and Xbox.
The game is already being made into a huge Hollywood movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, which will also release in 2009.
It appears that Rockstar is getting a new entry into the Max Payne series ready to coincide with the release of the movie, even though it will likely have a different story.

Por um lado, são excelentes notícias se forem verdadeiras. No entanto, o mais certo é que o terceiro título não seja produzido pela Remedy, pois a mesma vendeu os direitos da série à Take Two.

Sendo assim, não vou ficar com grandes expectativas até ter alguma informação concreta de que irá manter a qualidade dos antecessores.

Também há a questão da historia em si.

A transição entre o Max Payne e o Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne foi extremamente suave.
Já uma futura transição é mais complicada, ele simplesmente limpou todas as personagens que sobravam :D
 
Pelo tom da coisa desconfio que a haver um Max Payne 3 o serviço vai ser entregue a um estúdio qualquer porque a Remedy não tem pachorra para andar sempre a lançar jogos do mesmo
 
Espero que não seja daqueles argumentos à lá filme que já tinha tudo que tinha para dar mas volta a tentar chupar mais uns trocos... sim, Highlander, eu estou a referir-me a ti! Porque ******* tinham que inventar que eles eram de um outro planeta? E que raio de filme foi o The Source? Mas que argumento mais parvo e final mais patetico!

Bem... eu tinha que largar isso do meu peito...

Espero que pelo menos lancem um grande max payne, e nao um jogo qualquer porque este titulo e sem duvida dos melhores que ja joguei ate hoje!

Espero é que não perca toda a envolvência noir que baseou os jogos do Max Payne. Mais do que bullet times, o Max Payne era uma história envolvente. No entanto não sei como é que vão pegar em termos de história. Uma prequela vai retirar toda a carga emocional que o Max carrega, uma sequela vai ser dificil a não ser que disparem a história num rumo completamente diferente...
 
Mas é que eu não estou a ver nem como pegam numa sequela nem prequela já que o primeiro começa exactamente no principio (quando a mulher dele é morta) antes disso ele não passava de um policia, depois para continuar a história do segundo faz se o quê? está tudo morto
