FIFA 10 WILL BE SOON "UNVEILED"

shush-500x328.jpg

Doesn’t it just get your heart beating that little bit faster?
In the early hours of this morning we received a tip-off that, on a fairly popular social networking site, FIFA 09 producer David Rutter had updated his status with a line that would get us all rubbing our hands in anticipation. A few clicks later we read the news ourselves…
"Preparing for the great unveiling. Off to the UK next week to meet a heap of journalists and show some very early FIFA 10 for the first time."
So keep your eyes peeled for any FIFA 10 teaser articles out there in the coming weeks!

VIRTUAL PRO - MODO DE JOGO EXPLICADO
Virtual Pro trailer

Virtual Pro Intro

Customising my Virtual Pro

EA SPORTS Football World & Game Face

Getting myself in the game on EA SPORTS Football World

Growing your Virtual Pro

Unlocking Accomplishments in the Arena

EA SPORTS Pro Club Championship

Online Clubs was a big success in FIFA 09, but also highlighted a lot of things we wanted to improve this year. Aside from addressing the issues raised by the community, one of the things we really wanted to do was give Clubs more ‘goals’ so that those that joined in at a later date, and those that do not play the game as frequently as others, still felt there was something to achieve as a team. To do this we created a new League system. On top of the Leaderboard we had last year, which tracks every Club’s record over time and places them in Divisions, we’ve added ‘Regional Leagues’ and ‘Seasons’. There are 11 Regional Leagues to join, with each having its own Leaderboard and each month is defined as a Season. So at the start of each month the Leaderboard is reset, and the new season and the battle for the title begins again, while at the end of a season the top clubs in each League are awarded trophies. Regional Leagues and Seasons means that whether you’re a newly created Club, or playing your 10th Season, there is always a goal for your Club over the next month. Of course, to prove yourself as the best Club around, getting to No 1 in Division 1 in what is now called the World Standings, is still the ultimate goal.
Another of the big things we wanted to do this year was to make creating and joining a Club easier. When it comes to joining a Club you’ll now get a list of the Clubs your friends are in and can search for ‘Public Clubs’ - Clubs who are open to new players immediately joining without needing the Manager’s approval. As well as making it easier to find a Club, we wanted to improve Club Managers’ ability to find players. This year, managers can view players’ previous match ratings, recruit free agents (people who are not a member of a Club) via the Pro Leaderboard as well as play Pro Ranked Matches. Pro Ranked Matches are quick ranked Online Team Play games where 20 Pros are put together for a ‘friendly’, although with all your stats tracked and Accomplishments up for grabs friendly is maybe not the right word. Managers can use the Pro Ranked Matches to recruit new players, while others can take the opportunity to build up their stats in the hope a top Club will come calling.

Entering the Pro Club Championship

My Virtual Pro

As one of the Producers responsible for the feature of course I play with my Virtual Pro a lot, and for me it adds another dimension to my offline game modes as well as making me take my online play a lot more seriously - now I’m playing with Mike Takla I have a reputation to keep up! As a United fan (yes I’m a glory hunter…) I normally assign myself to their squad, taking my hero Eric Cantona’s number 7 shirt (sorry Michael Owen but you haven’t earned it just yet). I also go and make myself Captain using the Edit Teams feature, and normally assign myself to corners, free kicks and penalties, which is a bit greedy but seeing as that spot is open now Ronaldo’s gone I thought I’d try to impress Fergie. Time to unlock some Accomplishments and get my Pro ready for the weekly Clubs match we have here in the studio…
I start off by trying to unlock some Accomplishments in the Arena, juggling the ball, a Free-Kick, a Penalty and scoring with both feet is a good way to get started. Juggling the ball unlocks some new Skill Moves so I practice those to get myself some more tricks - as I play the game a fair bit I can normally get myself to 5 Star Skill Moves pretty quick nowadays, but there’s a check list and instructions if you’re not sure what you’ve done or if you don’t know the controls for the new moves you’ve unlocked.

Next up, some Be-A-Pro Seasons. Let’s see if I can get myself in the United 1st team and maybe earn some England caps. I unlock a few Accomplishments and increase my rep in the mode but decided to play some of the new Manager Mode, as it’s just too tempting. I start in the Championship with my second favourite team, Coventry City, as there’s an Accomplishment for helping get a team promoted. My Pro’s not bad for the Championship as I’ve still got the attribute improvements I unlocked in the Arena and in Be-A-Pro. After a long hard season, and a lot of unlocked Accomplishments (still haven’t scored a bicycle kick!), I’ve got a Pro who’s going to surprise a few of the guys in the office in the weekly Clubs match, and I’m sure they’re going to be jealous of my yellow boots!
The day of the big Clubs Match arrives, it’s the Game Modes guys versus the Gameplay team. They normally beat us pretty bad, but I’ve got my improved Pro this time, they are in for a surprise! My boots get a few comments, some not as nice as others, and having Skilled Dribbling gives me an edge, but they’ve got a pretty good defence, despite playing with brand new Pro’s. Finally we win a throw in and I can launch a giant throw! I launch one into the box but there isn’t an attacker in sight, what a waste of my talent! We end up losing, and my Pro’s superior skills didn’t quite make the difference I’d hoped, but only because of the opposition (the Gameplay guys are good!). A bit more training and I’m sure I’ll get my 10th league goal of the season, it’s been a three-game drought! Oh well, maybe next time - it’s too early to give up on getting to the top of the Pro Leaderboard just yet!

My Live Season 2.0
My Live Season 2.0 trailer

Let’s start with the Live Season improvements…

For Live Season we will provide fresh player form that affects player attributes and overall rating based on their real-world performance. After you have purchased Live Season 2.0 for any of the six leagues we offer this year, you will have the choice to use the updated player values in offline Kick-off and Online ranked matches. So far so good - this is what we provided last year as well.

From the first moment you go into FIFA 10 you will see that Live Season 2.0 plays a bigger role - we even have our own Main Menu item now. The first time you enter the menu you will see a tutorial video explaining how to get Live Season 2.0 from the FIFA Store and how to play the brand-new game mode, “My Live Season”.

Once you’ve watched the tutorial you can purchase leagues, enter My Live Season, download the latest update and much more from here. It is your one-stop shop to enter the world of Live Season 2.0.

Before we get to My Live Season, the biggest addition to Live Season 2.0, let’s stick with this menu for a moment.

We have the “Download latest update” option, which is pretty self explanatory. Every Wednesday is “Live Season Day” and new data will become available for you to download. Note that the ticker at the bottom of the screen will always show you when new data is available.

League summary is a screen that has returned from last year; it will give you a quick overview about your club and all other clubs from the leagues you’ve purchased. This is also where you can see the “Team of the week”, by pressing X on the 360 or Square on the PS3.

Team summary is a new screen that allows you to review the form of all players in the leagues you own. We found that last year it was quite cumbersome to check out your opponents’ form. This screen will shed some light on the clubs you match up against.

Another neat feature is that you can now view each player’s bio and check out the effect form has on all player attributes.

Ok, enough beating around the bush. Let’s get to the feature I’ve really wanted to tell you about for weeks now - My Live Season.

This is a brand-new game mode that you will automatically unlock as you purchase any Live Season league. This mode allows you to take control of your favourite club and rewrite its season. On every match-day we collect tons of data (approx. 13,000 pieces of data every week) and upload that to a server. When you pick the club you want to control for the duration of the 09/10 football season, all the real-world results of the season to date will be downloaded. The only exception are your own club’s results, as you’ll play them to determine their fate. That’s where the beauty of this mode lies: you can actually compare how you are doing with your club, against how they are doing in real life as all the other results are based on real-world match outcomes.

Let’s have a look how that works on any given match-day.

First you will choose your club...

...then you will download the latest available match-day, as I’ve started a new My Live Season this will be match-day 1.

As you can see the results are all the ones that occurred on the first match-day in the Bundesliga. As I’ve picked Stuttgart my result is “To Be Determined”. Once I arrive in the My Live Season Hub, the first thing I will see is that Stuttgart lost its first match 2-0 vs. Wolfsburg (last year’s Bundesliga champions).

Clicking on “Next Match” will allow me to replay the match against Wolfsburg, now I can actually win the game for my team and rewrite its season.

As you can see, I can also play friendly matches. This option allows me to play any match-up that happened that match-day with the real-world data - but the result will not overwrite the real-world result. Even if you play your club’s fixture, it will only be for practice, the result will not be tracked in the standings.

So here’s what happened when I tried to rewrite Stuttgart’s season - in the 19th minute I go ahead 1-0, Cacau scores on a break-away. In the 25th, Progrebnyak hits the post, so I am going into the half time break with a one goal lead. Looks like Wolfsburg’s 16-match win streak at home is going to fall in My Live Season :). Wolfsburg come out strong in the second half, but Grafite and Dzeko can’t put the ball in the back of the net. In the last 10 minutes Wolfsburg risk everything, which allows me to get one or two chances on the counter. On one of them Cacau hits the post with a delicate chip shot, but in the end I don’t need a second one. The match ends 1-0 for Stuttgart and Tasci deservedly wins “Man of the Match” as he was rock solid in defence!

At the end of the game I get a screen that shows me a comparison between Stuttgart’s real-world position and the My Live Season Position…

From here I can also see, that I’ve just played one match in My Live Season, but there are three more matches available to play before I catch up with the real world. The amount of remaining matches also shows on the My Live Season Hub.

You can play all the remaining matches whenever you like - when you run out of matches you have caught up with reality and have to wait until the next match-day is played in the real world. In the meantime you can still play as many friendlies as you want or start another My Live Season with a different club. Darn, now I am hooked again and need to play the next couple of games to get my club to the top of the table.

Neste momento a imagem do Ibrahimovic é meramente ilustrativa.

The Outsider, mais estádios?
