At the CeBIT 2010 tradeshow in Hannover, Germany, Asus has announced a whole pile of products with USB 3.0 interfaces, allowing transfer speeds almost 10 times faster than the 2.0 standard.
The latest is the Asus O!Play HD2 - a media streamer to complement the previously-announced O!Play HDP-R3. It allows you to send all the photo, audio and video content from your PC, NAS, card reader to any other connected device across your network. The USB 3.0 capabilities allows it to do that at up to 4.8Gbps transfer speeds.
It also has connections to more than 20,000 internet radio stations, over 100 internet TV channels, and can cope with HD audio output in upto 7.1-channel surround sound. We don't have any pricing or availability details yet, but as soon as we get the full info, we'll let you know.

Youtube Video: Asus O!Play HD2 High Definition Video Player

Fica a questão no ar.

The Asus O!Play HD2 supports the playback of a wide array of multimedia formats and is the world's first media player to support USB 3.0 for ten times faster data transfers compared to current USB 2.0-based players.
It is equipped with a large capacity 3.5" hard disk drive and NAS support, allowing it to store and stream multimedia files without any hassle. The O!Play HD2 also comes preinstalled with Opera browser, delivering live online streaming of over 20,000 radio stations. Users can now perform Google searches, visit Facebook, news websites such as CNN.com and BBC.co.uk, and download photos from Picasa/Flicker—right from the comfort on their living room sofas. In addition, the O!Play HD2 boasts full HD audio bitstream support that delivers uncompressed 7.1-channel sound output for stunning surround sound.

Aside from these extras, the HD2 is much the same as the HDP-R3 so you get Compact Flash, SD, MMC, and MS/MS Pro memory card slots, an eSATA port, and a couple of standard USB ports. Meanwhile outputs consist of HDMI, component, and composite for video and both digital and stereo analogue audio. It uses the same Realtek RTD-1073 chip as most of these media players so has support for pretty much every media format including mkv and mov and it can playback the lot at resolutions up to 1080p.

Asus has tweaked the UI a bit but it generally still has the fairly drab look and feel of previous units. With an expected price of just £100, though, we can happily take a hit when it comes to aesthetics. You can expect to see them in the shops towards the end of this month.

A ver vamos.
