Back in April, Mediatonic released Monsters (Probably) Stole My Princess, an awesome download that became the first and only PlayStation Mini to get an IGN video review. Today, the U.K. developer announced that it's looking to repeat that success with Who's That Flying?!.
Mediatonic Co-Founder and Creative Director Paul Croft showed up on the official PlayStation Blog this morning to drop knowledge on his company's latest PlayStation Mini. The blog post describes the game as a "side-scrolling shooter meets tower defense," but it definitely looks like it's got a shmup influence. Who's That Flying?! casts you as the Guardian of Earth, a little dude dressed in blue and black. Using the Guardian's laser arm, you'll need to fly through 15 levels and blast horrible "Doom Beasts" as they stream at you. Let too many slip by, and you lose the level.

Animated cutscenes like the ones in Monsters (Probably) are back and so are 25 challenge levels and four different "infinite modes." Croft said that you should expect the game to pop up on the PlayStation Network this September, so look for more Who's That Flying?! info here on IGN soon.
