PS3 Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection HD

This little rumour has been circulating for a while now. A few weeks ago it was brought up that a German games retailer was listing a ‘Mortal Kombat Compilation’ – but despite scouring the entire site, I couldn’t find any mention of it. The game seems to have resurfaced though, as ***** have had it listed for a release on October 12th 2010 for the PS3, with a recommended retail price of £19.99.
According to ***** the compilation will feature the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2 and Ultimate Mortal Kombat, all in HD. Unfortunately the listing has now been removed, although the box art remains.
I’m thrilled – not only were these three MK games solid fighters, but at long last I have a genuine reason to insert some MK phrases into an article!

Mais um rumor de HD Remakes... Este valia a pena sem dúvida.

Eu pensei nisso, mas o GOW 3 é uma continuação da historia do GOW 1 e 2, é o fim de uma triologia, o que até acaba por estimular as vendas visto que havia algumas pessoas que nunca tendo pegado no GOW para a PS2 teve hipotese de o fazer e continuar no GOW3.

Já no caso do MK novo, parece-me bem mais uma repetiçao do MK 2, MK3 Ultimate, etc. Caso haja uma edição nova desses classicos em HD, acaba por competir directamente na minha opinião com o MK novo.

Pois, está certo também... É capaz de não passar de um rumor mesmo, mas é estranho. A Shop.To meter assim jogos ao calhas...
 
Por alguma coisa eles listaram o jogo na base de dados, não estou a ver alguém se lembrar de colocar no sistema uma Collection do Mortal Kombat (talvez algum fã incondicional da série). :P
 
Rumor: Mortal Kombat Compilation Coming To PlayStation Network
The popularity behind Mortal Kombat is stronger than ever, especially with a new game on the way early next year.


However, it looks like Warner Bros. Interactive won't be stopping there. According to Eurogamer, a UK-based retailer site has listed a Mortal Kombat compilation for PlayStation Network set for release on November 12th of this year, containing the original MK, Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.


The listing has since been taken down, and Warner Bros. refused to comment on the matter. Still, it'd be a great way to hype the series for its monumental comeback next year, no?

Mortal Kombat HD Collection In Development

European game retailers gamemania.be, *****.net, vanstockum.nl and ***** have listed a Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection game for pre-order with a release date of November 2010 for the PlayStation 3. One mentioned that the game will come with a demo for the new Mortal Kombat game due out 2011. These stores have since removed the listings. TRMK has confirmed "with multiple industry sources that a high definition Mortal Kombat arcade update is indeed currently in development. Mortal Kombat HD Kollection will be a 2D Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection (MK1, MK2 and UMK3) featuring all-new high resolution in game graphics - not simply upscaled graphics, but sharp, crisp, awesome-looking High Definition graphics."

To properly recreate the series in HD, Warner Bros. had to film actors performing the moves like they originally did (20 years ago) with high-definition cameras. Warner Bros. has hired some new actors for the various roles and have been busy capturing them over the past few months at a Warner Bros. Studio in Los Angeles. Some of the original cast is involved in the filming to some extent.

TRMK was unsure who the developer of this collection is but suspect that is may be Backbone Entertainment, the developers behind the downloadable ports of Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3. There is still much unknown about this upcoming collection from the past, but we will keep you posted on new developments.

Cheira-me um pouco a treta, depois de ter lido isso. Então a desenvolver o novo MK é que vão filmar os actores para estes MK's? Das duas uma, ou esta "Kollection" é só para abrir o apetite para o MK que aí vem, ou então isto é treta.
 
Não é treta. Basicamente quem preferir a jogabilidade 2D (e alguns characters) dos MK antigos, vão ter isso em HD verdadeiro (e não meramente um upscale com blur shaders como o MvC2) este ano. Quem quiser a "nova experiencia" em 2.5D a la SF4, terá o MK9 na primavera do proximo ano.

E é provavel que este 1-3HD abra o apetite de muita gente pro MK9.
 
Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection confirmed

Warner Bros has announced digital game Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection, due out on PC, the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Arcade.

Confirmation comes via a Warner tweet: "Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection takes gamers back to the arcades! Iconic arcade games will be available on XBLA, PSN & PC." Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection has been rumoured for months. Retailer listings suggest it includes Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat II and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 all under one roof.
