The Darkness II, the sequel to 2007 console-only first person action game, has just been announced by publisher 2K Games. Unlike the original game developed by Starbreeze Studios the sequel will also be released for the PC sometime this fall. The game also gets a new developer in Digital Extremes.

Based once again on the Top Cow comic book series, The Darkness II has players taking on the role of Jackie Estacado who is now head of the Franchetti crime family. He has been holding in the supernatural powers of The Darkness since the events of the original game but now a mob war and an attack on Jackie's life is causing The Darkness to come out. The game is supposed to allow players to use both first person shooter weapons in both hand and the Demon Arms power of The Darkness at the same time in what the press release states is the game's "Quad-Wielding gameplay."

O primeiro Darkness é uma underrated gem, mais um bom jogo da Starbreeze que passou ao lado de muita gente, por ter sido muito cedo nesta geração e ter mecanicas menos convencionais. Há muito que se falava numa sequela, finalmente ela aparece, só tenho pena não ser da Starbreeze, e por consequencia será uma incognita. A Digital Extremes é um pouco hit-and-miss, vamos ver.
 
Acho que prefiro o estilo gráfico do jogo anterior....mas também admito que são poucos os jogos onde eu gosto de ver cell shading.
 
o art style do jogo é muito bom eu acho pelo menos é bem melhor do que estar sempre a jogar o mesmo as mecânicas do jogo então brutal agora a história e por ai já não sei se será assim grande coisa
 
Acabei de experimentar o demo e adorei. Excelente jogabilidade, com muitas formas de matar e mutilar os inúmeros inimigos. Muito divertido.
Também gostei do voice acting, que encaixa muito bem no tipo de personagens...apesar de algumas serem muito clichés.
Os gráficos são fraquinhos e mostram a origem deste jogo....nas consolas. O design do ambiente e dos monstros está muito bom, mas as personagens deixam um pouco a desejar.
