Carmageddon timer counts to new game? - Square Enix targets 1st June reveal.

Square Enix may be about to unveil a brand new Carmageddon game.

Says who? Says the - drum roll - www.Carmageddon.com countdown timer.

At the time of writing there are 11 days and 17 hours left. That means the clock will chime zero at 9am BST on Wednesday, 1st June.

Carmageddon was cancelled as a series during the development of Carmageddon 4 in 2005.

Carmageddon, released first in 1997, spiced up car racing by granting race-time for wrecking competing vehicles and smashing into pedestrians. Such a premise attracted a lot of controversy, resulting in a 10 month to-and-fro as Eidos waited for the BBFC to clear the game for UK sale.

Developer Stainless Games has negotiated all rights to the action IP away from Square, owner of original publisher Eidos. The Carmegeddon website is now owned by the studio, not Square Enix, contrary to reports over the weekend.

The game will be announced before E3, but won’t be on show in LA. The site counter points to June 1, so you can probably work out when you’re going to get a first look at it without overly taxing your teeny brain.

Stainless is now concerned with producing downloadable titles based on existing IP, such as Magic: The Gathering and Risk. It’s likely the game will be downloadable, given the studio’s recent track record.

Quem é que está com vontade para uma LAN (Hamachi) de Carmageddon 2? :D
O máximo é de 6 jogadores.
Quem quiser que diga, assim combina-se qualquer coisa.

O primeiro de todos é o melhor (juntamente com o grande Splat Pack!), e é possivelmente o jogo, de todos os jogos que joguei até hoje, com o qual perdi mais horas de vício.

Btw, era lindo que voltassem a meter a imagem do cockpit juntamente com a voz e frases do Max/Die Anna, ost dos Fear Factory, and stuff like that :D
