UBISOFT® IGNITES THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION WITH ASSASSIN'S CREED® III

Paris, France — March 5, 2012 — Assassin’s Creed® III will hit store shelves on October 31, 2012, encouraging gamers to experience the American Revolutionary War not written about in history books. The largest project in Ubisoft’s history also introduces a new hero for the ages.

With a development cycle of over three years and twice the production capacity of any previous Ubisoft game, Assassin’s Creed III is set to release on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows PC and is also in development for Wii U™ from Nintendo. Assassin’s Creed III is developed by Ubisoft Montreal in collaboration with six other Ubisoft studios.

Set against the backdrop of the American Revolution in the late 18th century, Assassin’s Creed III introduces a new hero, Ratohnhaké:ton, of Native American and English heritage. Adopting the name Connor, he becomes the new voice for justice in the ancient war between the Assassins and Templars. Players become an Assassin in the war for liberty against ruthless tyranny in the most stylized and fluid combat experiences in the franchise to date. Assassin’s Creed III spans the Revolutionary War, taking gamers from the vibrant, untamed frontier to bustling colonial towns and the intense, chaotic battlefields where George Washington’s Continental Army clashed with the imposing British Army.

Assassin’s Creed III is powered by Ubisoft-AnvilNext, a revolutionary new game engine that delivers breakthroughs in visual quality, character models and artificial intelligence. Assassin’s Creed III will feature a ground-breaking level of stunning graphics that bring Colonial America to life.

"Assassin’s Creed III features the franchise’s most expansive setting so far, along with an exciting new hero and exponentially more gameplay," said Yves Guillemot, chief executive officer at Ubisoft. "Whether you’re a longtime fan of Assassin’s Creed or if you’re new to the franchise, you’re going to be blown away by the scale and marvel of Assassin’s Creed III."

"Major" Assassin's Creed title confirmed for 2012 ( "Full-fledged" new title to be revealed soon. )

There will be a "major" new entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise in 2012, Ubisoft has confirmed.

CEO Yves Guillemot made the announcement during an investor call earlier today, but didn't offer any more precise details as to what to expect.

"There will be another great, full-fledged Assassin's Creed title next year," he said. "It will be another major release and we will be communicating more about it in the coming months."

Last month, series creative lead Alexandre Amacio gave Eurogamer a few hints as to what we can expect from the next game in the series.]what we can expect from the next game in the series[/url].

"In Assassin's Creed we set up a timeline with this whole end of the world plot of December 2012," he explained. "That's fast approaching, and the story we have to tell, we obviously need to do it before we arrive at that point."

This year's Assassin's Creed title, Revelations, is due on shelves next week.

Ubisoft surveys public on future Assassin's Creed locations ( Victorian England? Ancient Egypt? American revolution? )

Assassin's Creed developer Ubisoft has asked the public for help choosing where the historical series will be set in a future installment.

An image of the market research survey, posted by EmpireStateGamer, shows Ubisoft is considering eight possible locations, including Victorian England and Feudal Japan.

"Among the following propositions, in which of the following historical periods and locations would you like one of the next Assassin's Creed games to take place?", Ubisoft asks.

The options listed are:

The violent conflicts of the Imperial Dynasties in Medieval China
The advent of the mighty British Empire during Victorian England
The culmination of the Pharaoh Reign in Ancient Egypt
The invasion of the Americas by the Spanish Conquistadors
The confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution
The overthrow of the Tsar Empire by the Communists during the Russian Revolution
The Warlord Battles in Feudal Japan
The rise of Cesar's Empire in Ancient Rome

With another Assassin's Creed game already in the works for 2012, it's likely by this point the list purtains to yet another title - a spin-off, or even 2013's entry for the annual franchise.

Some of the locations and time periods, such as Fedual Japan and Victorian England, are already popular suggestions among Assassin's Creed fans.

Others have already been hinted at within Assassin's Creed canon. An adventure in Ancient Egypt would fit with hints dropped in this year's Revelations, while Medieval China could fit in to the story told by Revelations' animated epilogue film, Embers, which features Chinese assassin Shao Jun.

A game set during the Russian Revolution, meanwhile, would be set in the same time period as Assassin's Creed graphic novels The Fall and The Chain. They feature the saga of Russian Assassin Nikolai Orelov and his modern day counterpart Daniel Cross.

Other suggestions are more surprising. Would British colonists be the bad guys in a story set during the American Revolution? Would the Spanish be the good guys in a South American conquistador-era tale?

:P :-D

É um grande titulo, fico contente por continuarem, tenho comprado todos e irei continuar, é um dos poucos jogos obrigatórios para mim, gosto bastante.

Assassin's Creed 3 set in American Revolution

Assassin's Creed 3 will be set during the American Revolution, leaked artwork for the game suggests.
Ubisoft's latest entry in the cloak-and-dagger adventure series launches on 30th October 2012, and is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, Wii U and Xbox 360. It will star a new assassin, pictured here armed with a tomahawk, arrows and a pistol.

The Assassin's Creed 3 artwork was snapped by a Best Buy employee (posted online by Kotaku), along with information from the retailer that a full reveal was imminent.
The foreground of the picture suggests the game will feature, at least in part, a snowy setting. The assassin hero sports some fetching animal fur trousers and models a military coat that closely resembles 18th-century military wear.

The flag on display is the "Betsy Ross" 13-starred variation of the US design, used from 1776 and throughout the Revolutionary War.
GameInformer appeared ready to confirm the news last night and posted a banner on its site which showed more detail of the new assassin standing next to American revolutionary leader George Washington. That banner, shown below, has now been taken down.

Ubisoft previously included the option of an American Revolutionary setting in a public poll on where future Assassin's Creeds should be set. That poll took place last November, and Ubisoft has claimed Assassin's Creed 3 has been in development for three years, meaning the option to visit "the confrontation between British colonists and native Americans during The American Revolution," was likely there just to double-check interest.
