E vivam as cores
HTC's event is underway and we just got to see the company's first two Windows Phone 8 handsets, with the HTC Windows Phone 8X being the flagship.
Unlike the Titan, the HTC Windows Phone 8X is rather compact with its 4.3" 720p screen. It measures 132.4 x 66.2 x 10.1mm and weighs 130g. The HTC Windows Phone 8X (now that's a mouthful) uses a polycarbonate unibody, similar to that of the One X.

Going back to the screen, it's a Super LCD 2 unit with Gorilla Glass 2 protection and it's laminated to reduce glare.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 chipset with two Krait cores clocked at 1.5GHz, Adreno 225 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It runs Microsoft's latest phone OS, Windows Phone 8 (as the name quite clearly indicates).
The camera on the back should be familiar to HTC users - 8MP BSI sensor, f/2.0 aperture and 28mm field of view (in 35mm terms). It contains a dedicated HTC ImageChip and can shoot 1080p video with stereo sound.
There's a 2.1MP front-facing camera too, which can also record1080p videos and makes use of the ImageChip.
Having mentioned sound, HTC has included its trademark Beats Audio sound enhancement, but no Beats headset as is the norm with some of its Android phones.
The HTC Windows Phone 8X comes with 16GB of built-in storage, but there's no microSD card slot to expand it.
For connectivity, the HTC's WP8 flagship relies on dual-band Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 2.1, microUSB and 3.5mm audio jack.
The Windows Phone 8X will become available in the beginning of November, covering 150 major carriers in 50+ countries, but HTC's press release was mum on price. There will be four color versions - California Blue, Graphite Black, Flame Red and Limelight Yellow.

Começam já os rumores de novos equipamentos da HTC com Windows Phone 8:
HTC “Accord” | Display: 4.3” 720p Super LCD2 Camera: 8 megapixels (1080p capture) Processor: Dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (MSM8260A) Memory: 1 GB RAM Network: 42Mbps HSPA+ (International Variant) Release: October 2012 |
After yesterday's official look at Windows Phone 8 from Microsoft, we've received some details from a knowledgeable source on exactly what HTC — arguably the most important Windows Phone 8 licensee right now outside of Nokia — has planned to kick off the platform.
Starting at the bottom of the range, there's "Rio," featuring a 4-inch WVGA display, 14.4Mbps HSPA, and a 5-megapixel camera with 720p video capture. There's only 512MB on board, but the processor isn't bad — expect a Qualcomm MSM8227, a member of the company's Snapdragon S4 Plus line. One step up from Rio is the "Accord," which swaps in a 4.3-inch 720p Super LCD 2, an 8-megapixel sensor with 1080p capture, 42Mbps HSPA+, NFC support, and 1GB of RAM atop a slightly beefier dual-core processor (tentatively an MSM8260A, though that may change).
Finally, the big guns: "Zenith" is expected to have a 4.7-inch 720p Super LCD 2 with the same 8-megapixel sensor as the Accord, 42Mbps HSPA+, and an unnamed quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon (it looks like the Zenith and Accord may share a similar relationship to the One X and One S at retail). All three devices are slated to ship this year, with Rio and Accord coming in October and Zenith launching sometime in the fourth quarter. Clearly, those dates are very loose at this point and subject to slippage depending on a wide variety of factors, many of which are outside HTC's control — but if we were to get some truly terrific, competitive Windows Phone 8 hardware in 2012, that clearly wouldn't be a bad thing.
