ativ-leak-1.jpg
Samsung started integrating a leather-like back with the introduction of Galaxy Note 3 and Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition. Now going by the recent leak, Samsung is looking to adopt a similar design on its ATIV range of devices. MovePlayer spied an ATIV Book 9 Style and ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition with ATIV Book 9 Style featuring a leather-like back and featuring four 2W speakers, 15.6-inch display and most likely to be powered by an AMD processor.
ativ-leak.jpg
As for the ATIV Book 9 2014 Edition, we’re not sure if it also has the same lid design but the notebook is packed with meaty hardware like a 15.6-inch Full HD display, Intel Core i5 or i7 processor, Windows 8.1 OS, up to 256GB SSD, integrated Intel graphics.

Both these devices will most likely be official at the CES next month.

Sony takes the folding-screen Flip line smaller with the Vaio Fit 11A Flip PC January 6, 2014 5:00 PM PST

LAS VEGAS -- Hybrids come in many shapes and sizes as PC makers struggle to figure out the best way to combine the practicality of a laptop with the potability of a tablet. Some have screens that bend over backward, others detach their displays, and still others slide or swivel their screens around.
One of the more interesting late-2012 versions was the Sony Vaio Flip line, which literally split is display panel horizontally down the middle. The lid folds back along that line, allowing the screen to tilt back, either to a kiosk mode, with the screen pointing out from the back of the system and away from the keyboard and touch pad, or with the lid pushed shut to form a slate-style tablet. Unlike the thematically similar Lenovo Yoga, the keyboard ends up on the inside in this design.
Joining the existing 13-inch and 15-inch models is a new 11-inch version called the Vaio Fit 11A Flip PC. Smaller and lighter than the previous Flip PCs, this new ultraportable model weighs 2.8 pounds, and makes use of the same Sony TV Triluminos technology that has already worked its way into other Sony laptops.

On the plus side, design options include your choice of black, silver, or pink for the aluminum chassis. The keyboard is thankfully backlit, something often left out of smaller 11-inch laptops, and the system includes an active pen stylus. I'm less enthusiastic about the Intel Pentium quad-core processor, although that will at least be paired with SSD storage.
The Sony Vaio Fit 11A Flip PC, which includes a copy of Adobe Photoshop Elements 12, starts at $799 and will be available in late February.

Asus Transformer Book Duet ( Windows e Android )

Transformer Book Duet TD300. The 13.3-inch PC is really a dual-OS tablet that bundles a keyboard dock with its own hard drive and ports -- whether you're in laptop or tablet mode, you can switch between Android 4.1 4.2 or Windows 8.1 on the fly. The slate includes up to a 1080p display, a Core i7 processor and 128GB of solid-state storage; attach the dock and you'll get up to 1TB in disk space alongside USB,

$599 for a Core i3 model with an "HD" (read: 1,366 x 768) screen, and $699 for a 1080p unit.

ASUS VivoTab Note 8

The 8-inch Windows 8.1 tablet is a direct foil for Dell's Venue 8 Pro, and includes a familiar-sounding 1,280 x 800 IPS display, 2GB of RAM, a 5-megapixel rear camera and an HD-capable front cam. Most of the differences revolve around its namesake pen input; the VivoTab includes a Wacom stylus that can handle 1,000 pressure levels, arguably trumping Dell's less sophisticated (and purely optional) approach. An ever-so-slightly faster 1.86GHz Bay Trail Atom chip doesn't hurt, either Atom Z3740 (1.33-1.86Ghz) . The tablet should ship either late in the first quarter or early in the second, with prices starting at a frugal $299 for a 32GB model and climbing to $349 for a 64GB edition.

A Asus só anunciou isto para além dos padfones e afins:

ASUS' Transformer Book Duet can switch between Android and Windows as a laptop or tablet (update: hands-on)

DSC09509.jpg

If you're looking for a dual-booting convertible but find ASUS' Transformer Book Trio a little too clever, you'll want to check out the company's just-unveiled Transformer Book Duet TD300. The 13.3-inch PC is really a dual-OS tablet that bundles a keyboard dock with its own hard drive and ports -- whether you're in laptop or tablet mode, you can switch between Android 4.1 4.2 or Windows 8.1 on the fly. The slate includes up to a 1080p display, a Core i7 processor and 128GB of solid-state storage; attach the dock and you'll get up to 1TB in disk space alongside USB, Ethernet and HDMI. ASUS plans to ship the Duet to Asia and Europe late in the first quarter of the year, and to the US by late in the second quarter. When it does ship stateside, the system will start at $599 for a Core i3 model with an "HD" (read: 1,366 x 768) screen, and $699 for a 1080p unit. In the meantime, follow past the break for some early hands-on impressions.

We must say that switching between Android and Windows is really pretty easy: regardless of the OS you're using, you'll find a shortcut pinned to the bottom of the screen that allows you to switch. Just tap that, wait a second for a dialog box to flash across the screen and boom, you've crossed over onto the other side. So that's good news, then: what makes the Duet unique is something that it does well.

As for the hardware, well, this feels like a $599 machine, and that's actually us being generous. Granted, the build quality is solid, but the textured plastic back has a cheap, hollow feel to it. Also, at 1.9kg (4.2 pounds), it's rather heavy for a 13-inch laptop, even a touchscreen one, so if you're going to get this, you better be really excited about the dual-OS feature (and we're sure some of you are). On the plus side, the tablet itself feels relatively light, given its 13-inch screen size, and for that, we probably do have the plastic construction to thank. Also, keep in mind that that thicker design gets you up to 1TB of storage in the dock, up to 128GB of space in the tablet and nice-to-have ports like an Ethernet jack and full-sized HDMI socket. A fair trade, we'd say.

Some more good news: although the display doesn't have the best pixel density (1,366 x 768 resolution to start), it offers wide viewing angles -- just like most other ASUS laptops we've tested, come to think of it. All told, the screen stands up well to the harsh overhead lighting at ASUS's Las Vegas press event, which seems like a good early test (if we ever review this, we'll take it outdoors, too). Until we do give this the full review treatment, we'll of course reserve full judgment, especially on performance. For now, though, enjoy the hands-on pics!

tinha acabado de postar esse ;)

O que eu estou a estranahr é a Samsung não ter falado do updade aos seus portateis e Tablets windows durante a apresentação que fizeram, possivelmente têm outro evento dedicado só a eles...

Gostei particularmente desse Asus transformer book duet.
