UNREAL 2003 EXPLODES ONTO PC!

Brand new images from Infogrames' long-awaited multiplayer frag-fest, boasting astonishing detail and vicious action

12:54 While Japanese gamers continue to show a distinct indifference to all-things FPS, with Bungie's incredible Halo on Xbox still un-released in the Far East, Western gamers maintain their omnivorous thirst for every last morsel of frag-action they can lay their sweaty palms on.
One of the biggest games currently on the horizon is Digital Extreme's Unreal Tournament 2003, doubtless set to revitalise the Quake Vs. Unreal stand-off that serves as a raison d'etre for a large portion of the gaming community. For the new version (inexplicably suffixed 2003 despite coming out in the middle of this year), expect more of the same, only bigger and better.

And that means huge, incredibly detailed environments, awash with eye-popping visual effects, all-new weapons designed to cause utter devastation in the most spectacular manner possible, and completely reworked AI to provide some of the most intense combat ever seen in a computer game.

With a greater emphasis on team play and a wealth of new multiplayer modes, Unreal Tournament 2003 looks like being a dream come true for those strange folk among you that actually dream of this kind of thing. Check out these stunning new screens for now, and we'll have more on the game for you very soon. Unreal Tournament 2003 is currently slated for a June release.

Possessed,

O unico problema com essa data de Junho é que já foi Março e que estas coisas as vezes atrasam ... anos.

Enfim, mas esperemos que não ...

Unreal Tournament 2003 Demo Out Soon

Unreal... Tournament... 2003... demo... soon? Yup, fingers are crossed that it's coming this very month! Get ready to let the next-generation frag-fest commence

12:38 Recent rumour on the Web has suggested that a demo of one of this year's most hotly anticipated shooters, Unreal Tournament 2003, will be out this month. Oh. My. Word.
Although release specifics remain to be confirmed by both publisher Infogrames and developer Epic, the May date does tie in with previous comments from Epic's own Mark Rein, who has said that a technology demo would appear around the time of E3 2002.

To say that first-person shooter and Unreal Tournament fans are excited is probably a gross understatement. Getting our hands on the technology demo means, obviously, that it will be the first time most of us will get to go mental with Unreal Tournament 2003. It'll also be the first time we'll be able to get to grips with what truly can be termed a next-generation FPS. Drop-dead visuals are going to be coupled with some jaw-dropping physics that will very likely leave us like dribbling baboons for several weeks in the aftermath of the experience. We can't wait.

An around-the-time-of-E3 release date for the Unreal Tournament 2003 technology demo suggests to us either 17th May or 24th May - "big game" demos usually appear on a Friday. Just keep those eyes peeled.

UNREAL TOURNAMENT 2003 SITE OPENS

Epic's upcoming shooter is looking more attractive than Britney Spears wearing nothing but baby oil. Well, maybe not, but...

18:25 Epic opened the official site for Unreal Tournament 2003 today, showing off some new screens of its graphically amazing PC first-person shooter and raising excitement levels for the game just for fun.
E3 will be the first public viewing for the title, which is likely to neatly fill a rather conspicuous hole in the PC market. The shooter brings plenty of new weapons and tactics to the party, as well as some fairly astonishing visuals. Get over here and take a look for yourself.

Europe will be the lucky recipient of the highly anticipated title on June 28. See these latest screens in the meantime.
