I quit My Job for Folding

AeroCool Introduces GT Power Supply Series to the European MarketTaiwan based manufacturer Aerocool is announcing the new addition to its product portfolio. Brand new GT series aims for ambitious gamers and enthusiasts, coming with total of eight different models starting with 500 Watts and ending with 1.050 Watts. The acronym "GT" is coming from the Italian words „Gran Turismo", which stand for high-performance luxurious racing cars, built for long distance racing. Aerocool engineers too the challenge seriously both for designing the exterior as well as the interior.

New GT Series is split in two different model-ranges where one is certified with 80PLUS Bronze and the other with 80 PLUS Gold! Hence assures an efficiency of at least 85% respectively 90%. Aerocool achieved this by using two VRM modules, which are using one choke contrary to commonly used designs. This allows the two 12 Volts rails to have a maximum voltage deviation of only 3%, which is lower compared to the required 5% by Intel's specifications. Aerocool aims to deliver high efficiency and stability especially during long load sessions with its new GT PSU Series.

Aerocool GT power supplies exterior catches attention due to the fresh and stylish design. Entry-level models with 80PLUS Bronze specification are using black and red color matching. High-end models with 80PLUS Gold specification can be identified by the black and white color finish. In addition, the whole chassis was refined by round shape alongside with a mesh-grid to deliver an outstanding design far from standardon-market power supply units. All GT PSUs are equipped with a white 13,9 centimeter fan to further unify the design. Thanks to the big size of the built-in fan and the intelligent fan controller, the GT power supply units are ableto operate very silently at all time and adjust fan speed according to the actual load. MTBF of the Aerocool GT power supply units is stated with 120.000 hours to assure long and uninterrupted gaming sessions.

To further comply with every users requirement, GT PSU series are available as a standard version with attached connection cables as well as a smart modular cable version for more convenient cable management inside the PC chassis. Versions with the smart modular cables can be identified by the letter "S" in the model name. In addition all GT PSU support both the ATX12V 2.3 as well as the EPS12V 2.92 standards and offer enough connectors for the required *****. Furthermore SLI and CrossFireX are supported, allowing enthusiasts and gamers to build even more powerful systems. In the case of the smart modular cables version ("S" models) black colored flat cables are being used, allowing easier cable management. Other models are utilizing cables covered with mesh sleeves to assure a better airflow inside the chassis.

Another highlight is the low power consumption in standby mode thanks to the compliance to ErP Direction 2013. To ensure safe operation, all Aerocool GT power supply units are supporting the Over Current(OCP), Over Voltage(OVP), Over Power(OPP), Over Temperature(OTP), Under Voltage(UVP), Short-Circuit (SCP) and Surge/Inrush current protections(SIP) protections.

Aerocool GT PSU series is divided into three groups where the GT-500 and GT-700 power supply units come with attached cables, red finish as well as 80PLUS Bronze specification. Second group includes the GT-500S, GT-700S and GT-1050S power supply units with smart modular cables, 80PLUS Bronze and red color. Last group is made of the high-end models GT-500SG, GT-700SG and GT-1050SG supporting smart modular cables, 80PLUS Gold as well as white color finish. All models are available on the European market as of today for the following MSRPs:
  • GT 500W: 58,00 EUR
  • GT 700W: 75,75 EUR
  • Gt-S 500w: 64,65 EUR
  • GT-S700w: 80,69 EUR
  • GT-S 1050W: 130,50 EUR

  • GT-SG 700W: 121,50 EUR
  • GT-SG 1050W: 160,69 EUR

É a minha opinião.

1.- There is a misunderstanding here…. all our PSUs are rated in all its specs, specially in its efficiency at 25ºC, but that is normal for 99% of the PSUs in the market. About the Power wattage… all our PSUs delivers 100% wattage at around 45º because thats the normal temperature in most of computers. This is the normal way for all PSU makers because it would be ridiculous that the PSU only could deliver the full wattage outside the case. If that would be a real thing we would have problems with users and with reviews, because they test them in real life. Anyway, what it is real and true is that Heat (at normal 40-50 degrees level) affects efficiency and also noise level but not power output. We know that some brands, like Corsair or Thermaltake, likes to say that their PSUs are rated at 50º… but they do not specify what they mean exactly with "rated" and if this is something special or not that other PSUs does not have. They give this idea for users for them to guess that this is something special or unique feature…. and thats the clear sign that this is another MARKETING phrase to catch some users attention… nothing more!. All Brands uses Marketing… but some brands more than others!

The PSUs that have very high 12V line near to max wattage is because they use a wider power-balancing technology. This a little more expensive than normal tech and it is not useful in real life but gives high specs for reviews. We also have some PSU models with this wider tech like our GT series… please check this out: http://www.aerocool.com.tw/gt/power-supply/393.html
But we do not use it in models we want to have a very competitive pricing because it is useless in real life.

The main thing to know about this is that the reason for extremely high 12V lines is Marketing ONLY… it does not have any real appliance because everybody knows that you need enough free wattage in the rest of the voltage lines for other components and computer operation. But some reviewers seems to like it :-)

The reason that we do not usually appear on those websites is that our presence in USA is almost nothing and those reviewers are American. Our company is Taiwanese with a branch office in Europe and in China (and those are 90% of our market) but we deal with USA just through a small distributor. So we do not have the right access to that american reviewers. This is completely different for native American companies like Antec, Corsair and XFX (USA is 90% of their market) .. for example. Those Reviewers are from their hometown! Anyway… we try to get reviews in all the rest of countries, specially Europe, Asia, south america… with very good results and awards. We are increasing now.

Warranty conditions… thats part of the features/price every company offers but you should have clear than in high-end model PSUs Quality or Reliability is only small part of the picture. As you know 2 years is the minimum Warranty period that all brands has to offer but some Brands offers more (I double checked Corsair because you mention them and I know they just give 2 years… In online stores, webs and all info I get… they just give 2 years in their main selling models. The same as us). For offering 3, 4 or 5 years (or they could even more…) companies just calculate the estimated RMA they would have after 2 years. Lets do it: RMA is always decreasing with time so a good quality PSU could usually have extra 1% in 3rd year, 0.75% in 4th year and 0.5% in 5th year. Thats a 2.25% cost, just add another 1-2% for RMA processing… and you get maximum a 5%. This means, that for giving 5 years to any good quality 2 years PSU, Brands only have to increase its price around a 5%.
Thats what happens in real… and nothing more. Warranty conditions of course has some relationship with product quality but again it is mainly a MARKETING point thats users pays included in the price. Maybe you wonder… why Aerocool or Corsair or all brands do not include 5 years warranty and adds that 5% to price?.. the reply is easy… it is because the distribution channel rejects it because shops, distributors, importers and so on will have RMA costs to process those PSUs those extra 3 years and they are definitely not happy with that. (We tried to do several times in the past and our customers made us go back). Thats why, usually the maximum you see is that some brands give 5 years only to very few high-end models but never to volume model sellers… distributors and shops would kill them if they do that…. and of course being 5% cheaper is always good.

Finally… why in many markets like in Spain Aerocool PSUs are being sold much more than other brands like Corsair (Actually there is no comparison in markets like Spain… we estimate our sales are over 10 times minimum bigger than corsair): From my point of view is easy, we offer extremely good quality PSUs, fully featured and with beautiful designs at lower prices than our competitors. In my point of view, some brands like Corsair has good Brand Image and thats why they sell… but not because they are competitive against us in products themselves!:-)

Aerocool Templarius Imperator 550W 80Plus Bronze 55€
Aerocool Templarius Imperator 650W 80Plus Bronze 64€
Aerocool GT500W 80Plus Bronze 66€
Aerocool Templarius Imperator 750W 80Plus Silver Modular 88€
Aerocool GT700W 80Plus 89€
Aerocool Templarius Imperator 850W 80Plus Silver modular 105€
Aerocool Templarius Imperator 1150W 80Plus Gold modular 139€
Aerocool GT1050W 80Plus Bronze modular 157€
