AMD45nm CPU product line Heka / Rana / Ragor
Yesterday, we reported four nuclear AMD products Deneb and its emasculated version Propus some of the information, but today we will continue to organize the present we already know about the three nuclear AMD45 nanotechnology products Heka / Rana, 45 nanometer dual-core products Ragor some intelligence.

Heka Rana and the relationship, just as we said yesterday, the Deneb and Propus. In simple terms, Rana is to remove the 6 MB L3 cache of Heka three nuclear, or can be said that the three nuclear Propus version. The Heka, should only Deneb of the three nuclear and chemical products.

Heka and Rana in the second quarter of next year will be officially launched, of which only a Heka core of a model, initially set at speeds 2.5 ~ 2.8 GHz between the core and Rana will be introduced two general versions of two energy-saving versions of a total of Four products, the frequency at 2.1 GHz ~ 2.8GHz between. Three nuclear products and now on the market three nuclear Toliman, still was named Phenom X3, is expected to last only a model will be different.

Ordinary version of Heka / Rana's TDP for 95 W, and energy-saving versions of the Rana TDP were 65 W and 45 W. As the three nuclear products in the middle reaches of the market, more sensitive to price, AMD will be to the lack of L3, a decrease of the three nuclear Rana as the flagship product, Heka only symbolic launch a product, as three nuclear products Top products Yazhen.

As for the mainstream 45-nanometer low-end products Regor will be in the second half of next year, features a 2 MB of L2 cache, compared to AMD's other 45-nanometer products each of the core capacity of more large cache on ..... The core message we are also aware that a relatively small, I believe that in the next quarter there will be more about Regor intelligence.

Sources said that at the end of the fourth quarter of this year, AMD will launch two Deneb. Both Deneb is still used AM2 + interface, built-in DDR2 memory controller.09 and is expected to launch the end of the first quarter of the other products are fully abandon Deneb AM2 +, instead AM3 interface and built-in the first DDR3 memory controller, support the use of DDR3 memory. Originally set at the beginning of the plan in, AMD 45-nanometer CPU in the hope that the launch of four products can be sold at the same time, but there are two TDP for 95 W, the interface used AM3 Deneb need extension, deferred to the first quarter of next year.

Bem a ver vamos!!

Hum se não tivesse o meu phenom se calhar até comprava um,mas com a saida das novas boards este phenom ainda tem muito para dar :P

AMD Roadmap For Q4 2008

Chile Hardware got their hands on a leaked AMD roadmap for Q4 2008. It shows a couple of new "Brisbane" and "Toliman" processors, one new "Lima" single-core processor, and it confirms the "Deneb" delay to January 8th, 2009. Also, no sign of the elusive "Kuma" dual-core K10 processor that supposedly is coming out soon.

AMD to launch new GPUs this month and 45nm CPUs by the end of 2008

AMD is planning to launch mid-range ATI Radeon HD 4000-series GPUs (the ATI Radeon HD 4600-series) this month and two 45nm quad-core CPU by the end of this year, according to sources at motherboard and graphics card makers.

AMD will launch the ATI Radeon HD 4650 graphics card, adopting its RV730 core with 512MB DDR2 memory, and the HD 4670 in two versions, one with 512MB GDDR3 memory and the other with 1GB DDR3 memory. The cards will be priced between US$69-89.

For the entry-level market, AMD will launch the ATI Radeon HD 4550 in late September. A version with 512MB DDR3 memory will be priced at US$45-55 and a version with 256MB DDR3 memory will cost US$39-49. In mid October, the company will launch the ATI Radeon HD 4350 with 256MB DDR2 memory priced below US$49.

AMD is also planning to mark down the price of all the above products by the first quarter of 2009.

In addition to GPUs, AMD is planning to launch two quad-core 45nm CPUs by the end of this year, however the two CPUs will both adopt its Socket AM2+ instead of the originally planned AM3. The two CPUs will feature core frequencies between 2.6-3GHz and a TDP of 125W. Since they are just transitional products marking AMD's entrance into 45nm generation production, they will be phased out of the market by May or June next year.

AMD will also launch 45nm triple-core CPUs codenamed Rana in the second quarter of 2009. These chips will not include L3 cache.

45nm AM3-based CPUs will be launched in the early January next year. AMD is planning to launch four quad-core CPUs, two Deneb and two Propus core. In the second quarter next year, the company will launch a quad-core Deneb processor with higher frequency to replace the transitional AM2+-based CPUs.

The company will also launch two energy-efficient 45nm quad-core Propus CPUs mainly targeting the mini PC segment.

AMD cooks up its own Opteron chipsets for 2009

In our latest podcast, TR Editor-in-Chief Scott Wasson went into a great deal of depth about AMD's latest server roadmap. We already covered some of the chipmaker's plans back in May, but AMD has released some new information since then. For the folks who've missed the podcast, here's the full roadmap:

opteronroadmap.png

What's changed since May? Most notably, AMD now has a "Fiorano" server platform with its own, AMD-branded chipsets scheduled for mid-2009. The SR5690 hub and SS7100 south bridge will bring goodies like 5.2GT/s HyperTransport 3.0 connectivity, second-generation PCI Express, PCIe hot-plug support, and an I/O Memory Management Unit (IOMMU). In AMD's words, the IOMMU will provide "superior virtualization performance through more direct CPU/peripheral interaction." An older AMD document (PDF) also says the IOMMU "protects memory from illegal access by I/O devices."

AMD will launch the RS5690 together with a MIMO-less SP5100, and both chipsets will compete with Broadcom and Nvidia offerings that power current Opteron systems. Fiorano might help put AMD on more equal footing with Intel, which has been rolling its own CPUs and chipsets into server platforms for years now.

Speaking of virtualization, Shanghai will bring some new hotness on that front, too. When it hits servers next quarter, AMD's 45nm Opteron will purportedly offer "25% faster 'world Switch' time" than Barcelona—that is, it should let servers switch back and forth between virtual machines quicker. Shanghai Opterons should also have higher power efficiency, greater clock-for-clock performance, more L3 cache, and higher memory bandwidth than AMD's current server offerings.
