The chip is just a Socket 754 CPU without heat-spreader and with 3300BE model number. The performance rating suggests that the chip may be as powerful as Intel Mobile Pentium 4 3.06GHz or above, but at this point there is no information about its cache size or core-clock, hence, we cannot make any clams regarding this fact. In case the mobile Athlon 64-M processors have 1MB of L2 and run at about 2.0GHz core-clock, the CPUs will be capable of outperforming 3.06GHz Mobile Pentium 4 with 533MHz QPB and without HyperThreading technology.

Currently we also do not know if the AMD Athlon 64-M chips feature new additional power-saving technologies in addition to those that are currently found in Athlon XP-M processors.

The appearance of a picture of a real AMD Athlon 64-M processor for applications with lowered power consumption means that AMD is serious about such chips and will release them on time this September 23rd.
