Let's move on to the specialty which only the TC 550w carries and probably the biggest reason of buying this power supply, the external control unit.
Have you ever seen a 5.25" panel included with a power supply? Nope. That's right, but now there is one, and boy it sports some exciting features. Easy installation consists of connecting the white little connector from the power supply to the control unit and you're good to go. With the control unit you can change the fan speeds and control the +3.3v, +5v and +12v voltage lines. In other power supplies, adjusting the voltages is only possible if you open the power supply unit and adjust the "pots" inside, which of course results in voided warranty. Although there are almost no use for them except in overclocking, it's nice to have them. You can also mount a 3.5" drive to the "slot", and thanks to the removable "plastic grill" floppy drive can be installed as well."
