dude... ponham-lhe a cara que lhe puserem, os efeitos que quiserem... Linux é Linux...
Ja tou em Arch... stressei com o installer demasiado simplista... mas depois adorei a levesa da distro.
Tabem que um gajo tem de andar a instalar muita coisa no inicio... mas depois fica com um sistema bem mais leve que a maioria out-of-the-box.
Ainda tenho varios problemas para resolver, mas nada que a paciencia e o google não resolvam.
É claro que já tive o meu belo do problema que me deu uns cabelos brancos: neste caso ele detectou as particoes numa ordem diferente da do ubuntu e isso fez-me formatar a partição do xp a ext3. Lá tive de instalar o xp na particao do linux, instalar um programa de recuperacao de dados e depois de recuperar a tralha mais importante lá voltei a instalar o arch.
Até agora stresses que tou a ter é:
o freqscaling do cpu que nao funciona em modos,
o touchpad que nao faz "scroll vertical",
não consigo ter aceleracao grafica porque depois de instalar as drivers da nvidia diz-me que eu nao tenho o modulo nvidia e n dá para fazer modprobe e nao consigo entrar no X assim.
De resto parece-me normal.
O prob do touchpad e so proc ja toa resolvidos.
O problema da nvidia é estranho porque ao instalar-lhe os drivers ele diz que o modulo não existe no /proc/modules... :| e teoricamente nem é preciso adicionar isso a ficheiro para os kerneis mais recentes.

Mountar usbs/cds/dvds out-of-the-box sem problemas de permissões vem no ubuntu por default, no arch é mais uma carga de trabalhos... editando o fstab lá dá para por a montar automaticamente, mas mesmo assim, ficamos limitados às regras do fstab, não monta numa pasta com o "nome" da pen, etc... :S Ainda estou para descobrir o que faz isso automaticamente.... ou entao nao... e volto pro ubuntu LOL
