Xbox Assetto Corsa

Boa pergunta.

Ferrari 488 GTB, Audi R8 V10 Plus, Corvette C7 Stingray, Ford Mustang 2015, Lamborghini Gallardo SuperLeggera, Nissan GT-R Nismo 2014, Toyota GT-86, Audi A1 S1, and BMW M4 Coupe

Ferrari 488 GTB, the Audi R8 V10 Plus and Corvette C7 Stingray

Private Lobbies are Coming to Assetto Corsa Console Versions This April

Assetto-Corsa-Mclaren-638x359.jpg

Console players used to the current online portion of Assetto Corsa will be delighted to hear that private lobbies are finally on their way to improve the gaming experience. The news comes on the back of the recent update to the PC version, which brought three new cars and other updates yesterday.

The console update containing the private lobbies will be heading into the submission processes at Sony and Microsoft by the end of this month. Provided there are no issues, players will be able to enjoy the new feature, as well as the Audi S1 and Highlands circuit, by April’s end.

Private lobbies will allow room hosts to have a complete control over exactly which people enter a room, eliminating the risk of dealing with random players. Xbox One and PlayStation 4 versions of the game were released back in August 2016 (read our review here), but didn’t offer private lobbies.

For dedicated players, there were workarounds: you can find the details of one method here. Nonetheless this should be a welcome addition to the AC community, allowing players to easily set up custom races with friends.

Assetto Corsa Console Update Hits Submission Snags, Release Date Unknown

If you’ve been chomping at the bit waiting for the Assetto Corsa April console update, then unfortunately you’ll have to wait a little bit longer. As announced on the Assetto Corsa Facebook page, it appears that the team need a little more time finishing up the last few submission blocking issues and localizations before entering first party submission.

As we’re exactly halfway through April, it’s unclear if the updates will make the originally-announced timeframe. Console players will have a lot to look forward to when the update does inevitably arrive, however. This comprehensive update will not only finally give players the ability to create custom/private online lobbies, but will also feature the Audi S1 as well as the Highlands circuit.

There is also still no news on when the cars released in the latest PC update (Mazda 787B, MX-5 NA, and Porsche 911 RSR) will eventually make their way onto consoles.

We will update you with the new release date as soon as we get one, and as always stay tuned to GTPlanet for more Assetto Corsa news.

The Assetto Corsa Custom Lobby Console Update Has Been Pushed Back

Assetto Corsa console players are going to need to exercise just a little bit more patience. The upcoming update for the title has fallen prey to various submission blocking issues, according to the official Facebook page.

Developer Kunos Simulazioni originally planned to release the comprehensive update in April. As it stands, the Italian team has not yet set a new release window.

It’s not all bad news, though: Kunos shared screenshots showcasing upcoming features. The highly-requested custom lobby option will arrive as promised, and a screenshot shows which options will be available to players.

The available options look to be on par with the current generation of racing titles. Options at players’ disposal include lobby names, password protection, and eligible car lists. Racers can also modify time of day and weather effects, alongside other factors like forced assist and realism settings.

Handily, players can set custom lengths for practice and qualifying sessions, a much-welcome addition. In our review of the game, we found the online offerings lacking, so the addition of these in-depth options certainly helps solve that problem.

The Facebook post refers to custom championships also making an appearance in the update, suggesting this will be one of the most substantial updates Assetto Corsa has received post-release. Console players are still awaiting content like the Mazda 787B and MX-5 models, so it’s possible the update may pave the way for these vehicles and other PC content that hasn’t yet crossed over.

Stay tuned to GTPlanet for more Assetto Corsa news as it happens.
