Resolved Application Issues

This section provides information on application issues that have been resolved in the latest release of CATALYSTTM. These include the following:

* Display corruption is no longer seen when running the applications 3DSMax or Inventor
* Moving a sample in the program SolidWorks 2003 or 2004 from one display to a secondary display no longer results in the sample not being refreshed on the secondary display

Resolved CATALYSTTM Driver Issues

This section provides information on CATALYSTTM driver issues that have been resolved in the latest release of CATALYSTTM. These include the following:

* Starting the TV with a 4:3 aspect ratio in Overlay Theater Mode along with video out enabled no longer displays an error if the video window is dragged off screen

Resolved Game Issues

This section provides information on game issues that have been resolved in the latest release of CATALYSTTM. These include the following:

* Playing the game Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 under Windows XP with an ATI RADEONTM 9000 series card installed no longer results in the skaters' shadow not being completely drawn
* Playing the game Line of Sight Vietnam under Windows XP with an ATI RADEONTM 9200 series installed no longer results in the game menu appearing black when setting the Anti-Aliasing option to 1 or 2
* Changing the resolution in Halo while playing in the middle of a Campaign no longer results in a reboot of the machine. This issue was known to occur under Windows XP with an ATI RADEONTM 9000 series installed
* Running the game Halo PC under Windows XP with an ATI RADEONTM 9700 series installed no longer results in display corruption being seen on the barrel of the shot gun
* All cars are now being drawn properly when Anti-Aliasing is enabled and playing the game Race Driver by ToCA
* The game Ford Racing 2 no longer stutters when Anti-Aliasing is enabled
* The Star Wars game; Knights of the Old Republic is no longer failing to respond when moving the mouse to view the shore
* Setting the display resolution to 1024x768 32bpp and playing the game Nascar Racing 2003 demo, no longer results in the game failing to respond when OpenGL is enabled
* Setting the graphics option to 1024x768 in the game Beach Head 2002 no longer results in the game failing to launch and displaying an error message
* The Windows 2000 operating system no longer fails to respond when ending the game World Racing in a windowed mode
* Playing the game Neverwinter Nights under Windows XP with an ATI RADEONTM 9600 series card installed no longer results in the game failing to respond
* Playing the game IL2 Sturmovik: Forgotten Battles in OpenGL mode no longer results in flashing triangles and textures when playing the Black Death Track

Known Issues

The following section provides a brief description of known issues associated with the latest version of CATALYSTTM. These include the following:

* Logging on as an Administrator under Windows XP and doing a fast user switch to limited user results in display corruption when playing a DVD with WinDVD version 4 or 5. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/AAAE.html
* Launching the game Tron 2.0 under Windows XP results in the game failing to respond after the game introduction is loaded. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/AAAC.html
* Launching the game Line of Sight: Vietnam and setting the graphics option to 800x600 16bpp result in the game failing to respond when selecting a new game. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/AAAD.html
* Playing the game Nascar 2003 with the display resolution set to 1280x1024 32bpp results in display corruption being seen. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/AAAI.html
* Setting the video resolution to 1280x1024 in the game Medal of Honor: Spearhead, along with Anti-Aliasing set to 2x results in the main menu of the game not displaying properly. This issue is known to occur under Windows 9x with an ATI RADEONTM 9200 series installed. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. * User defined colour setting are currently not being retained when exiting a 3D game or application. This issue will be resolved in an upcoming CATALYSTTM release. Further information on this issue can be found at: www.ati.com/support/infobase/4315.html
* Significant performance loss is noticed in Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory. This issue is already resolved and a fix will be available in the next CATALYSTTM driver release
* Playing the game Prince of Persia under Windows XP with an ATI RADEON 9500 PRO and higher series may result in the light sources occasionally appearing through textures. This happens with Anti Aliasing enabled. This issue is currently under investigation by ATI and the game developer to determine the cause. Então quer dizer, passaram das 3.10 para as 4.1. Tasse, se calhar é uma jogada de Marketing! QUEM SABE! Pode ser para nos convencer que estas são tão boas que as 4.0 já era obsoletas!

Não interessa, vamos lá ver se eles trazem alguma melhoria e mreleção ao 3.10.
 
Ou então usam denominações correctas de software.

Quando se faz pequenas alterações, ou correcções de bugs, passa de 3.10 para 3.11, quando as alterações são profundas no software, a versão sobe um numero...

Pelo menios é assim que eu faço :D

Mas a explicação do VoRtAn_MaDgE quase me convenceu :D :D

ja instalei tinha os 3.10 omega

nao notei muita diferença axo que o prince of persia ta mais fluido 1 pouco mas pode ser impressao minha

Sinceramente, pelo que vi até agora, n gostei dos Catalyst 4.1 .
Desinstalei os antigos drivers, as usual, e de seguida instalei os novos catalyst 4.1.
Como uso o windows xp, fui corrigir o "problema" do refresh rate com o programa q uso habitualmente, no entanto, não funcionou. Dá-me um problema na frequência do monitor, que ao que parece funciona a uma taxa de refrescamento mais baixa do que deveria estar. O programa diz-me para restaurar as taxas, mas n funciona na mesma. No entanto no windows funciona à refresh rate normal, excepto quando mudo de resolução. (Algo que acontece qdo passo do desktop para um jogo, por ex.).
Fui ver se existe uma versão mais recente do programa para resolver o "problema" do refresh rate no windows xp, e tenho o mais recente.
É possível que seja do tal programito, mas até lá, não me compensa usar esta versão dos catalyst.

Instalei as novas drives 4.1 e tenho o seguinte problema,o agp fica sempre como off.
Mesmo pondo em 8x apos reiniciar o smartgart automaticamente o desliga............................
Tenho uma ATI 9700pro, e um P4 2.6 com a bios configurada para agp 8x.
Alguem sabe a resposta a este dilema ou as coisas sao mesmo assim??

Já instalei.
Agora vamos ver no que é que isto dá.
Eles bem que podiam fazer um catalyst control panel novo, com mais algumas funções e graficamente mais atraente e menos confuso.

Epá, por mais Drivers da ATI que saiam, por mais BIOS que saiam da minha Board, nada resolve o problema do Fast Writes que tenho. Não consigo ter o fast writes ligado, se não bloqueia o computador (freezes).

Tenho uma Asus P4G8X e tem incompatibilidade com a Radeon 9700 em termos de fast writes. Tenho sempre que ter isto desligado. Sabem se prejudica muito a performance? Não existe forma de contornar este problema, pois não?
 
As Granite Bay smp tiveram problemas com as radeon...poucas eram as k não tinham...eu tive 1a 8inxp da gigabyte com 1a 9700 gold e simplesmente dava mt freezes, problemas...testei bios, agp4,fastwrites,tudo o k me lembrei...corri foruns na net,mt gente se keixava do mesmo problema,inda lá tive a mh ex 9800pro e acontecia o mesmo...No meu caso nem os fastwrites desligados resultava...havia gente k afirmava k assim o problema se resolvia(no teu caso parece k resulta, outros afirmavam k mudando pa agp4x resultava...enfim.)

Nunca tinha ouvido falar desse problemas com a Granite Bay (acho eu). Se for só o fast writes e agp4x........not a real problem.

No friend, o agp 8x funca na boa, o único prob aqui é mesmo o fast writes que não dá. Se activar cabum! Freeze! :)
Mas não faz mal, que se lixe, consigo viver com isto. Agora também só troco de board se arranjar um bom negócio ou mesmo quando sairem as novas normas e trocasse logo tudo! Puff!

No smartgart aparece como ON ou OFF?????
É que eu tenho uma P4 G8X DELUX e por mais voltas que de tanto na bios baixando o AGP como no smartgart,ao reiniciar o AGP no smartgart aparece como off...............

os gajos da ATI devem ser meios xouxas ou querem confundir o pessoal...

eu pensava que os catalyst 3.10 eram mais antigos que os 3.9... so agora é k percebi k nao

normalmente 3.10 é menor que 3.9, pra eles nao deve ser.. custava-lhes meter 3.09? ou com tanto numero de 3.00 a 3.99 andar com numeros de primaria?
