ATi RD580 Crossfire- A8R32-MVP Deluxe

Se reparares, o Hypertransport está a correr abaixo da spec (8bit up/8bit down, contra os normais 16bit up/16bit down).
Daí a explicação para ficar estável a 1250mhz, provavelmente.

Mas sei que na bios está a 16/16 .Deve ser um bug.

X1800 cards to work IN CROSSFIRE w/o master cards
Radeon X1800 + Xpress 3200 drops big dong

A certain UK print publication has been whining about a "Radeon rip-off", but it seems they were well out if the loop (again) on ATi's future plans, and what it's about to show behind closed doors, at CeBIT...

There seems to be a strategy to extend the value to those people that have shelled out for X1800 parts, by allowing Crossfire to work without master hardware, but only on Radeon Xpress 3200 -based mainboards.

It's set to be announced after CeBit, and looks like being workable with the entire X1800 range, from XL to XT and possibly All-In-Wonder to boot. With X1800 XL at £170 just now, which seems to be price competitive with GeForce 7600 GT, X1800 XL Crossfire without master hardware suddenly looks mightily attractive.

You'll just need a supporting driver and two of the boards you want to run, with no consideration to a master board, providing you have a Radeon Xpress 3200 mainboard. Xpress 3200 offers enough lanes in its northbridge to let you run a pair of x16 PCI Express slots concurrently, with the bus traffic not having to walk any other interlink or bus connection.

It's up and running right now, seemingly without issue, so expect ATI to announce something soon
. More on this bean as it sprouts at Europe's premier IT tradeshow in the next couple of days....

Wow, 2x 1800xl's, like mentioned...Could become a pretty sweet deal...Especially if they're ~$250 MSRP like the word seems they will be post G71 launch.

That's definately a nice little surprise.

E duas X1800XL a 250 euros cada em crossfire ou duas X1800XT 256mb a 300 euros cada? Looks nice com a queda de preços recentemente anunciada e as novas boards ATI....

Love at First Touch: ATI Radeon Xpress 3200 Review

So, is the new CrossFire Xpress 3200 platform from ATI a worthy reply to Nvidia’s nForce4 SLI X16? After we’ve done our tests, we can answer this question in the affirmative. Nvidia’s long-time rival, the Canadian ATI Technologies Company, has developed a chipset which is not only comparable to the nForce4 SLI X16 in capabilities but is also far superior in the concept.
Nvidia implemented two complete PCI Express x16 slots by using a combination of two chips, each with its own PCI Express controller. ATI, on its part, equipped its new North Bridge with a controller that can serve both the slots at once. As a result, the data path between the two graphics cards is made shorter and the data transfer latencies is minimized, which is very important to achieve the maximum performance in multi-GPU mode when the cards are actively exchanging data.

Besides the efficient architecture, the ATI CrossFire Xpress 3200 has a number of other merits that make it the most advanced multi-GPU platform for today. It is simple, consisting of only 22 million transistors, and reliable, being stable at an increased voltage and temperature. The latter fact also makes it suitable for overclocking. It consumes a mere 8 watts of power and allows using almost any South Bridge with a PCI Express x4 interface. Considering the major OEM-oriented business model of ATI Technologies, we can hardly be wrong to predict a very bright future to the CrossFire Xpress 3200 platform.
As for the particular product on the new chipset, the ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe mainboard is superbly designed and is almost free from drawbacks, yet we think a Deluxe mainboard might come with more and better accessories

«...Asus has bios issues, hopefully sorted soon with many new options added.

TREF no worky, Some criticle options missing and some issues with Opty, dual core and various memory controllers...all minor tweaks to a bios coder so with luck we should be rocking and rolling soon.

Only issue i have is all these review sites either gave it 10/10 or moaned about dual core, flashed the 0311 then said its an awesome board... the issues many are having were never reported in a review. At stock or mild overclocking it is the board to have but for balls out it needs work.

Some of the things i have found, 148 opty cas3 no worky, 165 clocks ram real poor, E6 4000+ not liking 2T, E3 venice fine 2T but not as good 1T as the E6 by a long way...the list is longer but you get my drift here. I asked for every tweak you see in a manta bios that is direct register write to be added, hardware mods should not be needed for this. There is no tweakable drive strength but skew should counter this anyway.

Overall this board with the right bios should be a monster, im hoping the bios will come this week so we all jump back on the asus bandwagon..... By Tony»
