Pelo naming é a versao value do R700. Mas ja nos drivers tão cedo é estranho.
Lançamento la para o Verão seria um cenario mais provavel.

RV770 taped out

In very good shape

The foundation of R700, the chip called RV770 is taped out and it looks very promising. Just as ATI based many products on RV670 it plans to use the same tactics for the RV770.

This chip will be used for mainstream, performance and high end products and we can tell you that it should end up significantly faster than RV670. From what we have learned, it should be more than fifty percent faster, although we heard even higher numbers.

The RV770 is DirectX 10.1 compatible and it is made at 55 nanometre by who else than TSMC. This baby is scheduled for late Q2 if not early Q3.

Muitos falam mal deles ha meses mas continuam a le-lo, porque ? Porque é sempre dos 1ºs a dar as infos e cria ansiedade pelos produtos.

Graphics chip makers move forward their next generation plans, says paper

With the increasing demand for AMD's Radeon HD 3800 series (RV670) graphics cards, the company is planning to bring forward the launch schedule of its next generation RV770 GPU. This has triggered Nvidia to also accelerate the launch of its G100 (D9x) GPU, according to a Chinese-language Commercial Times report, citing sources at graphics card makers.

AMD has already released samples of the 55nm RV770 GPU to its partners for certification and cards are expected to launch at late second quarter, added the paper.

ATI RV770 'On Par' With Expectations

With the launch of the GeForce 9 series getting closer and closer, AMD is hard pressed to find something to keep themselves competitive. While the RV670 and R680 are regaining some much needed market share, they will both pale when the GeForce 9 series is released to the public. Thankfully, AMD is not going down without a fight. About the same time as the GeForce 9 series is released, AMD is releasing a little something called the RV770. At this point, it appears that the RV770 is about 50% faster than the current HD3870, which is certainly respectable. How this compares to the GeForce 9 series is still a mystery. The release of CrossFire X technology ought to really help benchmark numbers, assuming AMD can make buying four AMD GPUs cost about as much as two from NVIDIA.

ATI's new flagship performance and high end chips will have the ability to use GDDR5 memory. This is the next big thing that ATI plans to embrace.

It looks that GDDR4 didn't really hit off well, as it doesn’t brings a lot of advantages over GDDR3, but GDDR5 promises some crazy frequencies all the way up to 2.5GHz / 5GHz effectively, which is more than two times faster with what you can achieve today with GDDR4.

From: Fudzilla

Isto não ouvimos nós do GT200
