What we know so far

Here’s a comprehensive roundup of all the Battlefield 3 news that has been flooding into the web over the past week, starting with what we know BF3 will support:

New York, Paris, Tehran war theaters

It’s been confirmed that Battlefield 3 will take place in New York, Paris, and Tehran, although we expect several more locations and variations in each theater.

Frostbite 2.0

Frostbite 2.0 is the new engine that will power Battlefield 3, and it looks like a big improvement over Frostbite 1.5, which powered Bad Company 2. These are the first details on Frostbite 2.0:

  • Frostbite 2 will only support DirectX 10 and 11.
  • Frostbite 2.0 is recommended to run on 64-bit CPUs and versions of Windows
  • The engine will have a new set of compilers and pipelines, which will improve its diversity and open the possibility to mod tools.
  • Tile-based deferred shading via DirectCompute, which will improve performance.
  • Morphological Anti-Aliasing (MLAA), implemented with DirectCompute, which provides better bandwidth conservation (exclusive DirectX 11 feature).
  • Realtime radiosity (a dynamic light source with HDR), powered by the Enlighten middleware engine, previously used in God of War 3 for the PS3
  • Improved environment destruction.

Deviam era fazer um BC3, e deixar o BF3 como exclusivo PC. Eu que sou mais PC gamer concordo com o que dizem, eu espero maravilhas deste jogo... para pc.

concordo em parte, mas acho que BF3 também deva sair nas consolas. Não há muito a dizer sobre o jogo, estou com um enorme hype, já que para mim BF é a melhor série de FPS que há.
 
Orator, se comprares o Killzone 3 depois temos de combinar uns jogos online, e desculpa andar um pouco off do BC2 mas estou a tentar acabar o mass effect 2, depois temos de combinar uns jogos de BC2 que já deves de ir uns niveis largos a minha frente :)
Ainda é tudo um pouco vago sobre o BC3, ainda falta muito para que saia e daqui ate lá muito muda, mas nao estou a ver evoluir muito mais que aquilo que já se vé no BFBC2, mas cá fico a espera para ver o que vai sair.

Concordo, também estou à espera de maravilhas deste jogo. Nunca joguei Battlefield 2, adorei BC2, e se dizem que os Battlefield são "melhores" que os BC estou à espera de um grande jogão. Com mapas enormes, muito edício destrutível, muito trabalho de equipa, muitas armas/extras, etc.
Os Battlefield são tipo MAG, só com componente online ou possuem algum tipo de campanha??

Aqui esta o meu colega skyline, o meu professor de BF :D. Muitas horas passamos juntos, com o diogo até as 2 da manha, se é que te lembras

Eu vou estar no campo de batalha 3, muito provavelmente para PS3.

O 2 para pc foi muito bom. Ainda estive lá algumas dezenas de horas.

Tenho reparado que andas no ME2. Em principio devo de comprar o KZ3 mas tenho de ver se não será um problema da ZON a ligação aos servers, pelo menos da Beta. É que se for não me apetece trocar de fornecedor só por causa do online de um jogo.

Não sei se estarei muito à tua frente mas para já estou no 25 do BFBC2.

Ah, e quando sair o BF3, estou lá caído quase de certeza.
