Although crawling like a really slow snail the new Intel X48 chipset will finally make its debut next month and it will be backed up by quite a fe manufacturer which have motherboard based on it. Although not the first to reveal its X48 offer, DFI will certainly turn a few heads with its LANParty LT X48-T3R board.

Featuring a green theme, the X48-T3R comes with X48 + ICH10R chipset combination which enables it to provide 1600MHz FSB and DDR3-1333 support and CrossFireX via three PCi-Express x16 slots. In addition to all that the board has eight SATA ports, a Bernstein audio module (7.1 channel), two Gigabit Ethernet connectors, solid capacitors and a cooling system from Thermalright.

DFI's X48-T3R is expected to become available next month.

DFI Changes X48-T3R PCB Layout

In order to further improve the soon released X48-T3R motherboard, DFI has changed the 2nd and 3rd PCIe slots position. In the first revision they were too near to each other, which prevented using three dual-slot air cooled video cards. DFI wll show the MP version with the new layout with ThermalRight heatpipe cooler at CeBIT.
