Hi,
Wow, we have been very busy at the Free Linux Disks project. We have done
so much in the last month. We have shipped many disks, continued to look
for sponsors, added the ability for you to pay for your request, started
a contributor program, redesigned the website, and we have started a
blog. Like I said, we have been busy.
In case you didn't know, donations and sponsorships are what keep this
project going. They help pay for the huge costs of the disks, packaging
and shipping. We estimate it will cost well over $50,000 to fill all
20,000 requests. And thanks to some very generous people, to date, we
have raised about 5% of the funding needed. Not much compared to what we
need, but it's a great start.
We were unsure about adding the ability to pay for the request yourself,
as it is called the "Free" Linux Disks project, but due to the many many
offers we have had from others we added the ability for you to pay. It
will cost the project $5.43 to fill your request for Fedora Core 5. You
can wait until funding is received to fulfill your request or you can
fund your request now and it will be shipped out ASAP. Just click this
link to pay with PayPal ...

If you wish, you can also fund other requests by making a donation to the
project. We have been able to fill many requests because of the donations
we have received from many generous individuals ...

Now about the contributor program. I am very excited about this program
as are many of the contributors. The program was started to give the
ability to others to help fill the thousands of requests the project
receives. The generosity of the Linux community still surprises me. It
is a new program, started just a few days ago, but already it looks very
promising and many requests have already been sent by the contributors.
You can join the contributor program by visiting the Contributor Sign-up
page ...

Just one more quick note, we have started a blog for the project as one
method to keep everyone updated with the latest news from the project.
