GT200 antes do final do ano !! [+ info.]

geforce.jpg

GT200 to launch in Q3

Or a bit later

We learned that Nvidia's big 65nm chip is going to launch in Q3 or possibly even later. Nvidia is about to launch the Geforce 9800 GX2, its dual chip G92GTS card, and after that it plans to launch a product codenamed GT200.

Someone called this card the D10E (Desktop 10th generation Enthusiast) and it is likely that Nvidia might brand this product as Geforce 10.

The earliest we believe that Nvidia can launch its GT200 / G100 / D10E is in late Q3, but we wouldn't be surprised if it slips to early Q4 2008.

Nvidia Prepares 55nm G92 Against AMD RV770

VR-Zone has learned that Nvidia is preparing to shrink G92 process technology from 65nm to 55nm to better compete against the upcoming RV770. DigiTimes today reported that RV770 will come along by end Q2 which is about the same timeframe as the 55nm G92. Most probably, you will see RV770 based mobile parts first as notebook makers have already received RV770 samples for testing. Right now, we are able to confirm some 55nm G92 mobile parts coming up to pit against the 55nm RV770. Most likely, there are 55nm G92 for desktop parts too as Nvidia in desperate needs to lower cost and improve yield in the next couple of months ahead to stay in competition. In any case the 55nm G92 even with higher clocks can't match up against RV770, Nvidia will have to push ahead the schedule of next generation GT200.

55nm RV770 & G92b Die Sizes Comparison

Our good friend CJ told us some time ago about a die shrink on the G92 from 65nm to 55nm codenamed G92b and it is evident from the information we gotten yesterday that Nvidia is preparing a shift to 55nm on some of the upcoming mobile GPUs. However, we have yet to find out if there will be a shift to 55nm for the desktop parts.

Assuming G92b has no architecturally changes, it will be 17% smaller than G92 thereby it is cheaper to produce and better yield rate. Assuming the rumored die size of RV770 of 250mm2 from Chiphell is correct, this will put its die size about 1.29 times bigger than RV670. That could due to an increase in the number of stream processors and ROP and other architecturally enhancements that makes the die larger. In comparison, G92b die size is slightly larger than RV770 by about 10%.

Nvidia prepares D10U, 55nm

Comes before GT200

Nvidia plans to launch a new chip and new cards based on it. From what we've learned the new card will be codenamed D10U and the chip behind the card will be manufactured at 55nm.

We also heard that the architecture will be G92 / D8P-like, but somewhat cooler due to the smaller chip. We guess that this product will fight the new revision of the RV670 chips, but the real competitor is RV770, the chip that should come after this summer.

We know that the D10U will end up hot, but as long as it scores, people don’t care that much.

D10U=G92b
xxx=GT200

GT200 to become 9900GTX and 9900GX2, launch date set to July

According to our sources, GT200’s final product name and launch day have been set. Two NVIDIA GeForce card will use the core, they are 9900GX2 and 9900GTX.
It is similar to today’s NV tactic: 9900GX2 just like todays 9800GX2, it is a two GPU product, and 9900GTX is a conventional single GPU product. Source mentions that both cards will be announce in July. In previous rumors, words have it that NV will improve G9X core by rolling out GT200. But detailed information still unknown.

NVIDIA GT200 : GeForce 9900 GTX & 9900 GT In Q3

No it is not some April Fool jokes. VR-Zone has learned that there will be two high end parts from Nvidia to replace the current GeForce 9800 GX2 and 9800 GTX in Q3. These two parts are GeForce 9900 GTX and GeForce 9900 GT based on the new GT200 architecture. GeForce 9800 GX2 and GTX will have a short lifespan since they will be replaced in a couple of months time. Nvidia has positioned GeForce 9900 GTX to replace 9800 GX2 and this gave a clue that a single GT200 card will actually outperform a dual G92 card. Likewise for GeForce 9900 GT, outperforming and replacing 9800 GTX. CJ revealed to us that Nvidia will have a hard time fitting GT200 onto the PCB since the GPU is gonna be large and very power hungry so we can probably assume it is still 65nm based. The PCB for GT200 will be P651.

if will be new 9900 GTX : 55nm G92 (800-900MHz), shaders at 2000MHz, and 384-bit mem bus with 786MB 2.4GHz RAM .. this card will be monster with ability to defeat 9800 GX2 easily ...
