Honor Magic Watch 2 promo images show sleek design and thin bezel

Last week we came across the design sketch for the upcoming Honor Watch 2 and now we’ve got hold of some promo images of the device as well as a live shot which gives us our first look.

The watch face is about what you’d expect a modern wristwatch. There’s a tachymeter scale design on the outer rim of the casing which adds to the sleekness and the bezel as a whole appears pretty slim. The right hand-side will feature two control dials for which will be used to operate the UI. Last week’s sketches revealed the watch will come in a 46mm version and will feature 2.5D glass.

According to speculations, Honor will release two variants of the Magic Watch 2, one of which is rumored to be a women’s version. Honor is holding an event on November 26 in Beijing for the upcoming V30 and the new Magic Watch 2.

Honor MagicWatch 2 unveiled with up to 14 days battery life, advanced swim tracking

Honor unveiled the MagicWatch 2 – a smartwatch with up 14 days of battery life and a focus on health and wellness. With a 5ATM water resistance it can go places where your smartphone can’t follow - namely the pool.

The watch can monitor your heart rate while also keeping track of distance, speed and burned calories. It will also calculate your SWOLF score – the sum of the number of strokes and seconds you needed to swim one length of the pool (a lower sum means you’re swimming more efficiently).

Throughout the day, the watch will keep an eye on your heart rate and warn you if it’s too low or too high. And if it feels that you’re stressed, it will guide you through a breathing exercise. Finally, it will track your sleep and will offer suggestions on how to improve it. It can also diagnose 6 common types of sleep disorders.

The watch features 15 fitness modes ranging from hiking to using a rowing machine. It supports the GPS and GLONASS constellations for positioning (having both helps when there are tall buildings or trees around).

The Honor MagicWatch 2 is made out of 361L stainless steel and comes in two sizes – 46mm and 42mm. They have 1.4” and 1.2” screens, respectively, both AMOLEDs with 326ppi pixel density (meaning 454 x 454px and 390 x 390px resolution).

Honor MagicWatch 2: 46mm in Charcoal Black and Flax Brown - 42mm in Agate Black and Sarkura Gold

The watch is based on the same Kirin A1 chipset as the Huawei Watch GT 2, in fact the two watches have much in common, though the Honor targets a younger crowd.

Either way, there’s 4GB of storage, 2GB of which can be used to store around 500 songs you can listen to during exercise. Also, the advanced Bluetooth connectivity allows you to use the watch to answer calls, even if your phone is 150m away.

The advertised 14 day battery life is calculated based on 90 minutes of GPS tracking for workouts, 30 minutes of calls (over Bluetooth) and 30 minutes of music playback every week. Note that it’s the 46mm version that gets 14 days, the 42mm one lasts a week.

The Honor MagicWatch 2 will be available on global markets staring December 12. Pricing starts at CNY1,099 ($155) for the Agate Black 42mm version, the Charcoal Black 46mm is CNY 1,199 ($170), while the Flax Brown 46mm and Sakura Gold 42mm are CNY1,399 ($200).

In Europe the 42mm version will start from €179, while the base 46mm will be €189.
