Inside source In intel Israel shared with us today some information about Intel upcoming ICH9 and ICH10.

According to this source, Intel finsihed the work on ICH9 (Integrated with the BEARLAKE Northbridge) , and now working on ICH10, which will be launched probably during next year.

As part of the upgrades, Intel stops using PS/2 ports, and also LPT port.

The new ICH's will include a new 10GB ethernet controller , supporting new technology from intel, which will reduce load on cpu, and improved power consumption.

Intel will release a version of the motherboard that will use IAMT technology, and will include hardware based firewall.

Intel will probably include a wireless ethernet controller with the ICH10.

Another upgrade is of course the change of memory support from DDR2 to DDR3, but Intel will still release motherboard versions that will support DDR2.

And to the Juicy part ... According to our source, an improvement of 15% is expected with the new chipsets working together with conroe processors
