cumps
The difference in the E6540 and the E6550 is that the E6540 cuts the new Intel Trust Execution Technology and while its price hasn’t been announced it should be cheaper than the more equipped E6550
C2D E6850 FSB1333 starts at $266
Roadmap: In Q3 2007
It will be a while until we will be able to buy a FBS 1333 MHz CPU. Motherboard manufacturers already hyped out this speed and are showing its specs around. Many of their boards should be able to cope with it.
In Q3 2007 Intel plans to start selling E6850 and all the other E6x50 CPU's with FSB 1333. The top one that rocks at 3 GHz will cost only $266. The price will match quad core Q6600 CPU clocked at 2.4 GHz and you will have to decide do you prefer speed of four cores. All E6x50 CPU's are Dual core only.
Core 2 Duo E6750 with 4 MB cache and FSB 1333 MHz clocked at 2.66 GHz will sell for $183 while E6550 and E6540 both clocked at 2.33 GHz clock will sell for $163 only.
This is a lot of processor for a very little money.
