Dual cores affected We don’t know the exact numbers, but we received a notice that Intel will pull in the price cuts from August 10 to July 20. The price cuts will affect both boxed and tray processors and we know that the 45nm dual core models will be especially affected. Intel plans to cut the price of the E8500, E8400 and E7200 and probably a few more CPUs. So if you were planning to update your machine you better wait a few more days to get these babies cheaper. http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?op...=8297&Itemid=1 Para não andar a SPAMAR a TechzonePT... Intel to EOL 5 Conroe CPUs, replace them with WolfDales http://www.fudzilla.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=8324&Itemid=1 ntel plans to retire five Core 2, Conroe core 65nm based CPUs. This won't take place till Q1 2009 but the last orders will be placed in Q4 2008. It will discontinue E6850, E6750, E6550 and E6540 while E4600 will get discontinued by June. The big chip manufacturer will replace these CPUs with E8x00 45nm Wolfdale based CPUs. It looks that a year after the introduction Intel will be ready to almost completely go for 45nm production and this can give you an idea how long will take AMD to get its 45nm act together. Core 2 Duo E8x00 are selling well but most of the E6x50 CPUs don't actually need replacement, as you only get an incremental performance increase going from E6x50 to E8x00 CPUs.
