Investment firm buys 8.1% stake in AMD, $622M

- AMD announced today that a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mubadala Development Company, an investment firm headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, has purchased an 8.1% stake in AMD. The investment totals $622 million, and AMD will receive $608 million after paying $14.6 million in related investment expenses, which they will use for additional research and development. AMD issued 49 million new shares at $12.70, which is slightly above the current market value of $12.62 at the the time of this writing.

Mubadala CEO Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak said, "AMD is a great fit for Mubadala's investment approach; a spirited competitor and innovator led by a strong and visionary management team. We see significant opportunities for long-term growth and value creation." Mubadala will not receive any board representation or control of the company as part of the deal.

Estes gajos não são nenhum moicanos... eles devem saber o que andam a fazer... ninguem enterra €€ numa empresa k acham k vai dar buraco... devem tar a contar com os coelhos na cartola da AMD... e sinceramente, tb espero k a AMD volta à luta... precisamos de componentes melhores, e mais eficientes...
 
Essa empresa detem 5% da Ferrari, mesmo que a Ferrari seja uma "empresa" de menor condições, melhora a reputaçao da empresa que comprou as acçoes.
 
Compraram essa percentagem porque basicamente as acções da AMD estão baratas. Eu tb tinha comprado há uma semana, e agora vendi a ganhar umas boas coroas :D
