Released back in June, Yakuza spin-off Judgment (known as Judge Eyes in Japan) managed to exceed sales expectations in the west, which could prompt potential sequels. That's according to producer Daisuke Sato, who teased the possibility of more from Takayuki Yagami and his detective agency, in an interview with MeriStation.
Judgment also receiving widespread critical acclaim will no doubt help too, should Ryu ga Gotoku Studio be mulling the notion of a sequel. Our own review noted that Judgment's Side Cases, enjoyable combat, and twisty-turny narrative made Judgment something rather special.
"From our point of view, Judgment has exceeded the sales expectations we had in the west; they are very good," Sato stated. "We, as a team, would like to continue working on future instalments of the Judgment series." And that about says it all.
SEGA has started going big with all things Yakuza in the west, with Yakuza 0, Yakuza Kiwami, and Yakuza Kiwami 2 all doing quite well, while The Yakuza Remastered Collection will enable players to enjoy the entire saga on PS4 when it launches on 11th February 2020.
The digital Yakuza Remastered bundle is also available via the PS Store, granting instant access to Yakuza 3 Remastered, before Yakuza 4 hits on 29th October, and Yakuza 5 follows on 11th February 2020.
