The KDE 4.1 Beta 1 release is the successor to last month's
KDE 4.1 Alpha 1 release. New in this release is expanded shell functionality and configurability, KDE Personal Information Management (PIM) ported to KDE 4, and many other new and newly portd applications to the KDE 4 libraries. Plasma in particular has greatly improved with this beta release. Among the new KDE 4 applications include Dragon Player, the KDE CD player returns, and a new printer applet are also there. Read more about KDE 4.1 and download links are available from the
KDE.org press release. Previously we provided an
early look at KDE 4.1. Back at the
KDE 4.0 Release Event we were first to share that
KDE 4.1 will be released in July.
