Cheap Dell 20-inch monitor arrives
Bargain of the month

THE INQUIRER doesn't often write up company product launches, but a special mention had to go to a new monitor from Dell, and was originally spotted by Engadget.
Having been in the market for a HDCP-based TFT for some time, and considering its necessity for running HD copyright material on Windows Vista, it's been surprisingly hard to find an inexpensive monitor which comes with HDCP support.
The new widescreen 20-inch (20.1-inch viewing area) Dell E207WFP has a 1,680 x 1,050 resolution, five ms response time, and the HDCP support comes from a HDCP-DVI port. It doesn't have the USB hub and further connections that its older brother has (the 2007WFP) which allows Dell to keep the price down.
Amazingly it has a $289 price tag (we're trying to get UK pricing as we speak), and can be considered an absolute bargain considering it's one of the view monitors that will future-proof your purchase and allow you to view any HD DRM-invested material you want on Vista.
If you lot haven't already snapped them all up by the time they're released and they're not on the Dell website yet - let me know if you spot it, we'll be attempting to get one in for further review. µ
