On tonight's episode of X-Play at 8PM ET, Peter Molyneux will drop some exclusive details on the TWO new games he is currently working on.

The first game is said to be "familiar" to gamers and will most likely be a new game in one of Molyneux's franchises. This could be a new Black & White or possibly something from his Bullfrog days such as Syndicate, Magic Carpet, or Populous, though the intellectual property rights to those games get a bit complicated. Molyneux has stated before that he'd like to revisit Syndicate, but that the rights issues might make it impossible. Syndicate fans can only hope…

The second game will be something completely different, not only for Molyneux, but he claims it's different from anything any development studio has done before. Is this one of Molyneux’s classic promises? Let’s hope not.

Although Peter didn't confirm platforms, it'd be safe to assume that these are going to be Xbox 360 (and possibly PC, as well) titles with Microsoft's ownership of Molyneux's dev studio.

Upon hearing the news, Adam Sessler said, "In quality Molyneux fashion, we may have learned a little more than was expected about the future of Peter Molyneux's projects and when we might be seeing them."

So when will we be seeing more? According to Peter... GDC 2009. We'll be there and we can't wait to see Molyneux's new projects.

Concept art of two new Lionhead projects

The art is from Leading Light Design, a company that specializes in concept and production design. One of the two projects that Leading Light has done for Lionhead (via superannuation) is named Justice, and the other has been dubbed Survivors.

Justice (pictured above) conveys its name quite well. The art suggests that the game will tell the story of an escaped convict looking for redemption. Survivor has the beefier gallery to tell its story. Some sort of disaster (or a series of disasters) has occurred and crippled the old neon boardwalk Coca-Cola lifestyle. The images show a variety of people in different places, presumably surviving whatever happened.

Artwork for two unannounced Lionhead projects appearing on the web are not currently in development, despite speculation they could be the next titles from the Fable studio. Concept art for two games – labelled Survivor and Justice – has been on display at Leading Light Design, and was picked up over the weekend by a number of blogs including Destructoid, claiming it was representative of new projects in development at Lionhead.
However, neither projects are in development at the studio – it's believed that one project originated before Lionhead was acquired by Microsoft in 2006.
"These are old projects that we're no longer working on," a spokesperson for the company told GamesIndustry.biz.
Those anticipating Lionhead's next true project after Fable II won't have long to wait, as the studio boss is due to give a lecture at next month's Game Developers Conference, entitled Lionhead Experiments Revealed.
