Firmware upgrade at launch to implement connectivity to Folding@home, background downloading and internet browser enhancements

London, 20 March 2007 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today launched the web site that will allow prospective PLAYSTATION®3 owners to see which of their PlayStation®2 titles are playable on the new European PS 3 hardware model.
The web site at http://faq.eu.playstation.com/bc lists those titles from the portfolio of PS2 titles available in the SCEE PAL territories that are playable on PS3.
"Our engineers have been working overtime, and have succeeded in delivering a significant number of playable PS2 titles for the European launch", said David Reeves, President of SCEE. "We will be adding additional titles to this list in future firmware upgrades, but as we have made clear before, in the future our resources will be increasingly focused on developing new services and entertainment features exclusively for PS3, rather than on delivering PS2 backwards compatibility.”
New owners of a European PS3 will need to install the latest firmware upgrade to play the PS2 titles listed on the web site. The upgrade will be available at launch from midnight on 22nd March through the PLAYSTATION®Network, from http://www.PlayStation.com or, for those unable to access the internet, on a disc obtained from local Customer Services.
The latest system software upgrade (Version 1.60) will deliver features such as Folding@home connectivity, background downloading of content from the PLAYSTATION®Store, support for Bluetooth® keyboards and mice, and an optional full QWERTY on-screen keyboard for text entry.

Já tinha sido colocado a noticia noutro tópico (~70% de compatibilidade)... mas o site para mim tá down agora :\

Isto também tem muito que se lhe diga..porque

o hardwarwe que retiraram da versão europeia é apenas o EE..certo ?

ora o E.E. é um MIPS risc, facílimo de emular...

o G.S. é que tá quieto.. pois tem 1 unidades vectoriais...

portanto, o problema da compatibilidade nem é tanto com o EE, mas sim com o GS..!!!!

Não sei se a memória ainda continua lá, ou agora é "reservados" 32MB pro emulador..aqui eu cocloco a pergunta, os 32MB são "reservados" pra sempre..ou apenas quando a consola detyecta que é um jogo ps2 ?
 
Epa tipo eu tenho o Smackdown vs. Raw 2007 mas na lista so me aparece o Smackdown vs raw isso quer dizer que qualquer um deles é compativel na PS3 ou é so o primeiro Smackdown vs. Raw ( se é que o primeiro era assim chamado)
 
Para conseguires a melhor experiência possível a jogar com títulos PlayStation®2, recomendamos que:

  1. Evites ligar quaisquer periféricos USB não essenciais à tua PS3
  2. Evites a utilização de modos de "60Hz" e de rede (que podem sofrer uma notória corrupção gráfica inexistente no jogo principal)
  3. Saltes as sequências de FMV opcionais (um reduzido número de jogos inclui corrupção visual numa ou em mais sequências de vídeo).
  4. Os jogos PS2 para vários jogadores (que não sejam em rede) podem ser disputados por um máximo de 7 participantes.
