Recalling the good old days of multiplayer racing on the SEGA Mega Drive, Codemasters is resurrecting its Micro Machines franchise on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC, with Micro Machines World Serie; and it looks like it's going to be a pumped up version of the free-to-play Micro Machines game for iOS that launched back in July 2016.

At present there's only box art and some other promotional artwork (above), with no concrete information on Micro Machines World Series as yet. However, it's likely the game will be a lot like Codies' spiritual Micro Machines successor Toy Box Turbos, itself inspiring the iOS version of Micro Machines.

Expect colourful top-down racing, wacky weapons, oversized billiard balls and other everyday items, as well as loads of diddy racing cars doing battle on tabletops and in other domestic environments. More Micro Machines? Yes, please! Watch this space for more details on Micro Machines World series for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC soon.

Micro Machines World Series Officialy Announced For April

Codemasters has officially announced that Micro Machines World Series is set for launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in April 2017, seeing a return for the legendary miniature racing game series, while retaining the classic, manic gameplay that made it so unforgettable back in the day. And as we predicted, the game is a revamped and "pumped up" version of last year's iOS game.

Micro Machines World Series will feature garden, kitchen, workshop and an array of other memorable locations from the series, as well as an array of customisable mini vehicles to zip around them in. Staple game modes like Race and Elimination will also make a comeback, while all-new Battle Arenas will also be added, enabling you to wreak destruction against friends or AI.

Team Play will brought to the fore too, in modes like Capture the Flag and King of the Hill, all of which promise the "ultimate pick up and play experience for players of all ages and abilities" that's impossible to put down. The game will also feature licensed objects from Hasbro, meaning brands like Hungry Hungry Hippos, GI Joe, Ouija and Nerf will be included in the game's courses.

"The original Micro Machines was a breakthrough multiplayer racing game and remains much loved in the gaming community," said Codemasters VP, Jonathan Bunney. "We saw great success earlier this year with our free-to-play mobile game but this brand new console title takes the franchise to its greatest levels of multiplayer mayhem and enables you to play with your friends on the same sofa or across the world."

Micro Machines World Series will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC on 21st April 2017 with support for up to 12 players online and four playing on the same screen. Check out the announcement trailer below.

Tem uma pista do traga-bolas! x) Eu acho é que tem muita coisa a acontecer ao mesmo tempo em termos de explosões e afins, às vezes os jogos ganhavam se fossem um bocado mais sóbrios.
