It is baffling to think that a massive, massive property like the 'Halo' videogame franchise is still bobbling around, with no director-attachment or studio attachment. This film, no matter what the final product looks like, is seriously just a gigantic f'n pile, PILE of money. And for whatever reason, everyone is avoiding it like the plague.
Finally, FINALLY, FOX has stepped in and snagged up the primary licensing rights for the film. This means that anything that bears the logo of the 'Halo' film will just line the neo-con's pockets who run the mega-corporation. What it really means though, is that this movie is going to get it's shit kicked in to production mighty quick. Hopefully Peter Jackson will somehow manage to cling to whatever small amount of power he had, because he's a blssful salve to the chapped-asses of the dork community, and his choice for director (complete unknown Neil Blomkompf) actually seemed pretty interesting.
But there you go, something is stirring in 'Halo' land, and that's a pretty big step.
