Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Presents LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCK for DS

BURBANK, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment will launch the all-new LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCKTM videogame in fall 2007, starring the infamously short-tempered and devious Daffy Duck in stylus-based gameplay for the Nintendo DS™ system.

Published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and developed by WayForward Technologies, LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCK lets players wield the Nintendo DS™ stylus to irritate, aggravate and infuriate their own Daffy Duck in humorous ways. In the game inspired by the classic Duck Amuck cartoon, players will compete against Daffy through a series of mini-games that range from retro inspired favorites to modern, innovative gameplay interactions, with the goal of driving Daffy’s temperature, and his temper, through the roof. LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCK will also feature wireless game play allowing players to not only gang up on Daffy as a team but also battle each other in head-to-head competition.

“LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCK gives gamers and all Daffy Duck fans a brand new experience and total control in tormenting the heated duck all in good Looney Tunes fun,” said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Development and Production, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. “The imaginative gameplay puts players in the creator’s role with the Nintendo DS™ system incorporating individual and competitive play with the beloved Daffy Duck character.”

LOONEY TUNES: DUCK AMUCK will release day-and-date this fall with LOONEY TUNES: ACME ARSENALTM, a next and current generation console adventure for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Wii™ system and the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

Ficou em segundo lugar num livro de 1994 chamado "The 50 Greatest Cartoons of all time".

E3 2007: Duck Amuck Hands-on
See how many ways you can piss off Daffy.

July 13, 2007 - One of my favorite classic Warner Bros. cartoons was the Chuck Jones-directed "Duck Amuck," where Daffy's being tormented by an off-screen animator. Imagine my joy when I learned a few months ago that Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment's using this cartoon as a basis for an original Nintendo DS product. This game was in early form at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Santa Monica this week, so we checked out the game in progress.

Picture a "piss Daffy off" simulator and you've got a good idea of what to expect with this WayForward design. It's just a bunch of mini-games strung together with some admittedly really great classic-style character animations of Daffy addressing the gamer. At the start of one game, we were tasked in drawing Daffy a horse so he can ride into town a la "Dripalong Daffy." It can be as detailed as a steed or as simple as a scribble, but we're guessing Daffy will most likely end up riding a giant penis more often than not. Here you'll play a simple challenge of shuffling poker cards between players on the upper screen…flick the proper card to the proper player or suffer the consequences. We also played a clever "Sleep Mode" challenge where closing the lid activated a mini-game where players must follow Daffy's audio cues to smack unseen monsters using the L or R button at the proper time. The better you do in the games, the more you'll piss Daffy off and raise his rage meter. When it tops out, you win the game.

Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck was admittedly far too early for prime time - the game constantly glitched out and frequently crashed so we didn't get a chance to play a huge assortment of challenges. At the very least, it was awesome to see such great classic animation running on the Nintendo DS - the development team's really focusing on making the game look and sound like the old Golden Age of Animation cartoon…but with a modern twist.

Watch for a release of Duck Amuck this holiday season.
