ASUS Readies the F201E 11.6-inch Netbooks
Next week ASUS will be rekindling the netbook flame with the release of the F201E trio. The F201E models feature a 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display, a 1.1 GHz Intel Celeron 847 processor, 2/4 GB of RAM, a 320/500 GB hard drive, a 0.3-megapixel webcam, a 3-in-1 card reader, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, one USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports, and a 5,200 mAh battery enabling up to 5 hours of operation.

The cheapest of the F201E lot, priced at €299, runs Ubuntu and has 4 GB of RAM and a 500 GB HDD. The same specs, paired up with Windows 8, cost €359. Last but not least, there's a €329 model with 2 GB of RAM and a 320 GB hard drive.

Por 299€, parece ser bem mais interessante que as versões Atom ou com Brazos da AMD.

Ultimamente tenho visto uma maior adopção dos portateis ao ubuntu, mas a questão que tenho de ir investigar é estes processadores

Pelo que vi, os celerons são pentiums com menos clock no igp e sem vt-x. A 1.1ghz não se podem esperar milagres, mas um netbook com um monitor decente e consideravelmente mais rápido que Atoms e Brazos, por 300€, parece-me bastante tentador. Eu, pelo menos, fiquei tentado.

Mas celeron em clock por clock deve ser muito melhor que o Atom e o controlador de memória já é dual channel. Para trabalho e tarefas banais está fixe...

Se os de 12" for assim, decerto que será uma excelente escolha visto que portateis de 12" so mesmo com amd brazos, não é que tenha alguma coisa contra, antes pelo contrário, mas são vendidos entre os 420/500€

Se começar assim a sair portateis de 12" nos proximos tempos o meu netbook será reformado para um desses

It is based on the Sandy Bridge architecture but many of the features like Turbo Boost are deactivated.
