Rumores:

Nintendo to show off 5 new games

The upcoming Leipzig Games Convention sounds like it is going to be quite the show for Nintendo. While we have to wait until late August for the show to begin (23-27), it is looking to be worth the wait. We reported on the title of Nintendo’s event earlier (Wii Prove Our Promise), and now information is coming in about what the keynote will contain.

The official magazine Nintendo of France has announced that Nintendo is planned to show off 5 brand new Wii titles at the event. It is unknown if these titles are direct from Nintendo, or are 3rd party offerings. Based on the story so far, these will most likely end up being Nintendo first party titles. Unfortunately, there is no information on anything else regarding these new titles.

Nintendo’s LGC event is going to be big, I wonder what other announcements we can expect from the event!

Don't pass out or anything. This is really JUST a rumor at this point and we have no reason to believe it's true. But that said, one of the things floating around GC 2006 right now is that Nintendo may announce a new Kid Icarus for Wii.

Again, a rumor. R-U-M-O-R. And it's more likely to be false than not, which is why I'm merely posting it to the boards right now.

Say it with me: Rumor.

Good. Now that we have that out of the way, sure would be pretty cool if it could, by some chance, turn out to be true.

Eis algumas informações sobre a confirmada sequela de Mario Strikers: "Mario Strikers: Charged"

Mario Strikers ChargedTM (temporary name)

Format: Wii™
Game Type: Fighting Football
Players: 1-4
Developer: Next Level Games / Nintendo

KEY INFORMATION

Take to the pitch as Mario Strikers Charged (the follow up title to Mario Smash Football) returns with an all new roster of features, only for Wii.

• Use the skill the Wii Remote and Nunchuk Controller provide to win the ball, score unstoppable goals and take control of the goal keeper to perform spectacular saves

Characters: Mario is joined by other famous Nintendo characters who take on the role of captain. Players then select a host of popular teammates to make up the rest of the team.

How to progress through the game: Players form an original team by combining one of 12 captains with three of eight sidekicks before competing in one of the games many modes. Anything goes in Mario Strikers Charged as players are allowed to utilize a variety of special abilities to clinch important goals.

Super abilities/power ups/moves/features: Each captain has their own set of skills, super abilities as well as the ability to perform special shots called Mega Strikes, where the iron ball splits up to five balls and flies at the goal. The defending player must use the Wii Remote to target and aim at and shoot these balls out of the air before they concede a goal. In this game players can also charge energy to the metal ball, making it more likely to find its target when fired at goal.

Each of the stadiums in Mario Strikers Charged have various characteristics and contraptions, which influence game play. Players must learn to use this to their advantage to truly dominate the pitch.

Multiplayer: Mario Strikers Charged will not only feature an action packed multiplayer mode but will also support the Nintendo WiFi connection service, allowing players to take part in tournaments with people from all around the world.

Parece que voltaram a mudar o esquema de controlo do Zelda para wii

August 21, 2006 - Nintendo has made some major changes to the control scheme for the Wii version of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Speaking to Japan's monthly Nintendo Dream publication, producer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the game will now allow players to swing the controller for sword slashes.

At E3, players used the B button to swing Link's sword, with Nintendo explaining at the time that players would likely get tired having to actually swing the controller. "Upon actually playing it, it's more interesting this way," said Miyamoto to Nintendo Dream about the new control scheme.

Going along with this change, Nintendo has made modifications to the game's bow and arrow controls. In the E3 version, players aimed with the Wiimote, then actually shot out arrows using the D-pad. With the B button now free, Nintendo has moved the action to the B button. Miyamoto felt that that shooting the arrow with the D-pad was too difficult, and the B button allows for quicker and easier shooting.

It's unclear if the game will require the new control scheme or if players will be able to chose between different methods of control.
