Oficial: Developers to get first taste of 'Longhorn'

After months of speculation, Microsoft plans to give developers their first hard look at the next version of Windows in October.

The Redmond, Wash., company expects to release a "developers preview" of the new operating system, code-named Longhorn, at its professional developers conference in Los Angeles. Although it won't be a full beta, or test, version, Microsoft executives have promised it will be more than just "slideware," software that companies haven't been using and don't know when it will be coming.

The company is expected to hand out a development kit that will give developers their first look at the inner workings of the much-heralded new operating system. Longhorn will usher in a raft of changes from previous versions of Windows.

Hum... quanto tempo essa build levará a chegar ás maos do publico??? :D
segundo consta a ultima build estavel é a 4015 ( a sacar no emule)
 
Ja' testei algumas , gostei do desktop ta' mais personalizavel e tudo... vamos la' ver o que sai daqui penso que esse windows vai ter NT 5.0 .
 
a ultima build disponivel do LH é mmo a 4015, xegou-se a falar numa 41xx mas era fake... espero q essa venha rapidamente pq keria ver o tao falado "aero"

Não, muitos bugs :D.

Aquilo nem beta é ( e se calhar nem alpha ). Aquilo são versões para teste interno.

Se vais experimentar, testa em vmware ou se não tiveres, num segunda partição. Mas cuidado, strange things could happen.....

P.S. - Só uma dica, tira a emulação WinFS dos componentes do windows.....O internet explorer e o control pannel tb têm muitos problemas ( e no longhorn não deve haver patch para o slammer :D )
