Isto é de um fórum que eu frequento, achei que valia a pena mostrar esta pérola:
"I agree with Ed. Overclocking was something we used to do a lot in the days of P1 and P2 chips. There's not much point in it today. You should be able to do just about anything, musically speaking, with your P4-1.7. If you need more effects or something then I'd double the RAM to 500. That'll get you quite a few more effects and total tracks. Also, todays chips are running hotter than ever. Overclocking MOBO's isn't as easy today as it used to be.
You may already know this but, if you need more power for your games, then I'd be looking at a better video card that has more onboard RAM."
E continua:
(...)
"Its really not a bright idea anymore and especially not for a guy who wants his games to play more stable. A better video card w/ more RAM on it is the answer for that. And doubling your MOBO RAM will do way more for your Sonar capabilites than frying your CPU by overclocking it (or even if you don't manage to fry it...right away). Overclocking is simply a thing of the past. There's no point in it anymore. Even "if" you manage to do it, you won't gain much from it. That 256m of RAM is holding your system back more than anything else. Double, or even quadruple your RAM and your system will fly. You'll barely see any change in it by overclocking. This ain't a P2!"
E fez questão de mostrar isto quando eu lhe disse que estava enganado quanto ao overclock ser uma coisa do passado...
Acho k vou postar isto no XtremeSystems, só naquela...
