Path of Exile 2 Announced, With New Classes, Skill System, and More
Grinding Gears Games has announced Path of Exile 2, a follow-up to the free-to-play action RPG featuring a seven-act storyline that can be played alongside the original Path of Exile campaign. Old and new narratives alike lead to the same shared Atlas endgame, while the sequel adds a new skill system, ascendancy classes, and more.
Set 20 years on from the events of the first Path of Exile, the second game will keep all expansion content from the last six years, with 19 new ascendancy classes, a skill system that uses Skill and Support Gems, as well as engine improvements, and all-new armour and weapons.
No release date or platforms have been announced for Path of Exile 2 as yet, but given that the first game eventually turned up on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we'd say that a console release is all but certain. A beta is planned for Path of Exile 2, although it might not surface until late 2020 at the earliest.
