There's a new action/adventure/horror kid in town and he's packing some scary six-shooters. Welcome to Nefandus, heading to PC and Xbox 18:10 Action/adventure/horror game - that's a bit of a mouthful - Nefandus (working title) is a third-person title being developed by Black Element Software under the watchful eye of none other than Bohemia Interactive Studio of Operation Flashpoint fame. Apparently featuring storytelling spiced up with a thrilling atmosphere, the game has a plot that sets the events to come in an enigmatic village in Europe. Details are vague, but it seems that you play a character who is half man, half demon, who must both discover the truth about, and face, a mysterious terror that has plagued the world even before mankind set foot upon the Earth. Nefandus' will contain 70-plus levels of adventure that are going to be built around a mixture of real- and "strange"-world environments, and that will be populated by very unreal creatures that are after your blood. Weaponry will most definitely be your friend. Judging by the first screenshots that have been released, we're in for a real graphical treat. Those environments look most impressive, although we're not particularly scared. Yet. Published by Cenega, Nefandus is due out in early 2003.
