Problema em uso do Monitor LG L225WS

Boas, esta situação é um pouco leiga, mas é a primeira vez que uso um LCD e estou um pouco perdido.

Comprei um LG L225WS recentemente e liguei ao meu portátil (LG Tx Express) tal como fazia com o meu antigo monitor e qd alterno entre "monitores" ele desta vez não mostra qq tipo de imagem no LCD.

Que posso fazer? (Já instalei os drivers que vinha com o monitor e estão instaladas correctamente, aparecem no gestor de dispositivos como drivers actualizados e dispositivo a funcionar)

Configuração do portátil: Pentium M 1.3Ghz, 1Gb Ram, NVIDIA GeForce Go 7300 (256Mb) com Windows XP.

Desde já agradeço qq ajuda.
 
Já está a 60Hz, pus tb a uma resolução menor para experimentar, mas nada.

Sempre que o ligo "a la pata" ele dá sinal de vida, mostra dps a mensagem: "Analog - Power Saving Mode" e desliga, no entanto se retirar o cabo do pc ele reconhece que foi desligado e pede para verificar o cabo.

Right click on your desktop>Properties, then click on Screen saver tab, then at botton of the box you should see 'Monitor Power'.

Click on 'Power' then Power schemes tab.

Look at 'Turn off monitor' and set to 'Never'

If you don't get as far as your desktop and it goes straight into power saving mode, there maybe a graphics card error, come back here if this is the case.

If your monitor light goes to amber, try re-booting your pc into safe made (Press F8 when booting up, then select safe mode with networking so you can access the internet for a driver for your graphics if it is corrupt), and see if your monitor will stay on in VGA mode(this means without your graphics card driver).

If it stays on its either a conflict with the screen resolution or your driver.

Try uninstalling your graphics driver in add/remove programmes, then re-booting and make sure Windows loads the correct manufacturer driver and not the Windows generic driver.

You may have accidently let Windows update you graphics driver with auto updates, and your graphics won't run with it."
