PC Project CARS 2 (Slightly Mad Studios)

Isto vai ter de ser muito muito bom para fazer com que alguém como eu que tem os DLCs todos do PCars actual aposte mais uma vez nisto. E até agora não há nada que me chame a atenção.

Jaguar XJR-9 & Imola Circuit Coming to Project CARS 2

Slightly Mad Studios has continued the teasing for its upcoming simulator, with the shot above featuring the heroic Jaguar XJR-9. While recently we learned the Circuit of the Americas will debut in Project CARS 2, this time the focus is on a famous Le Mans car.

For those unaware, the Jaguar XJR-9 was a Group C prototype race car crafted for the purpose of competing in World Sportscar Championship and IMSA Camel GTP series. The XJR-9 achieved numerous wins, including at the 1988 Le Mans 24 Hours endurance event, which was won by the #2 sister car. This victory broke Porsche’s streak of seven consecutive victories at Le Mans in the ’80s, and awarded Jaguar with a Le Mans trophy for first time since 1957.

The car was powered by the mammoth-sized 7.0-liter V12 engine, squeezing out over 800 hp. As you would expect from a Group C prototype, the XJR-9 is capable of immense top speeds, especially around La Sarthe.

In addition, it seems a famous Italian circuit will be making a return to the game once more. GTPlanet member F1Racer68 identified the track in the background of the first image as the Circuit of Imola. The 3.1-mile long track is mostly notable for hosting the San Marino Grand Prix.

Wild 940 HP Time Attack Evo VI Coming to Project CARS 2

Project-CARS-2-EVO-Time-Attack-638x399.jpg

Following on from the announcement of Imola and a Group C legend, Slightly Mad Studios hasgiven us a first look at the latest addition to the Project CARS 2 roster, after teasing it this weekend — the Mitsubishi Evo VI by SVA.

This particular Evo VI started life as a 2000 RS model, and was transformed by UK-based SVA Imports into a track conquering machine for the Time Attack racing series.

The car is powered by a 4G63 engine stroked to 2.4 liters. Coupled with a GTX42 turbo, output stands at a staggering 940 hp, sent to the wheels via a Drenth sequential transmission that has been adapted to a paddle shift by SVA.

The AWD widebody chassis, carbon-fiber roof, and the massive aero enhancments (including huge splitters, skirts and a gigantic diffuser) make the Evo supremely competitive. When it made its debut in the 2015 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge, it set lap records at Brands Hatch, Silverstone, Snetterton, Zandvoort and Assen, so it should be pretty handy in the game.

Could there be more entries from the wild World Time Attack Challenge? There’s still plenty of the 170+ cars to be unveiled, and it’d be a shame if the bewinged Evo doesn’t have a few playmates to chase lap records with.

As always don’t forget to check out the GTPlanet Q&A with Ian Bell thread to catch up with the latest news on the development of Project CARS 2.

Project CARS 2 To Feature a Quartet of Nissan's Godzillas

Well that was unexpected. After revealing the bonkers Evo VI Time Attack car yesterday, Slightly Mad Studios is at it again today with more cars set for inclusion in this year’s Project CARS 2.

Once again the focus is on a Japanese manufacturer. This time the spotlight is shining on Nissan, with four of the famous Skyline/GT-R family members detailed.

The oldest — and wildest — of the pack is undoubtedly the Hasemi Motorsport DR30 Skyline Group 5. Just look at it: it’s pumped up to almost comical proportions. Group 5 made for some incredible cars in both looks and performance, but taming the epic turbo lag of the Skyline will surely be a challenge for PCARS2 players.

Up next is the last generation to use the GT-R badge alongside the Skyline name: the vaunted R34. Unusually this won’t be a stock version or even the ultra-rare Nismo Z-Tune, but a modified version created by SMS. Physics Lead Casey Ringley explains why this path was chosen:

“A bigger turbo lets ours run up to 700 hp through a 6-speed dog-box conversion, as that is a common upgrade on the real car. A mild aero kit in style of the NISMO Z-Tune adds some real downforce, and keeps the look close to the GT2/GT500 appearance of the model’s racing history. If you’re a purist, you can dial-down the turbo for stock boost (around 330 hp, which is a more realistic number than the claim of only 276 hp), but the chassis really comes alive at 500 hp and up.”

The other two cars announced today have already been spotted in various media, including the official announcement trailer last month. The Nissan GT-R Nismo is the 600 hp king of the modern road-going GT-R lineup, boasting a Nürburgring lap time of barely over seven minutes.

In terms of power, the GT3-spec racer may give up 100 hp to its street-legal sibling, but the aero kit and massive diet put it in a whole other realm of performance on the track. We’ve watched this car take on the Bathurst 12H race in the real world, and we’re looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the car Katsumasa Chiyo, Rick Kelly, and Florian Strauss took to second place in 2016.

Stay tuned for more news on Project CARS 2. If you’re curious about aspects of the game, head on over to GTPlanet’s Q&A with SMS CEO Ian Bell.

A Look at Project CARS's 2 Dedicated Server Options

With a car and track list as good as Project CARS 2’s is shaping up to be, it’s looking like the online community in the title will have a lot content to race with. The latest reveals have included a brace of Nissan GT-Rs, as well as the relatively new Circuit of The Americas.

For those wondering what kind of options you’ll be able to tweak and select in your lobbies, Slightly Mad Studios’ Ian Bell has given us a look at the options that will be available to PC players (brought to our attention by community member wicken).

Many gameplay options will be available to the player, ranging from compulsory (or otherwise) use of driving aids like TCS and driving lines, to allowing problems when going to the pit. Adding to the realism during pit stops, you can enable one of Project CARS 2‘s more unique features by allowing full manual control during the pit process.

4-opponents-current-638x518.png

Race settings can also be changed as required, with the above look at the admin console showing the ability to alter AI difficulty via a slider, set multi-class or singular class racing and choose what class of cars you want to compete in your events. There’s also a user interface option to change the size and layout of the starting grid but currently this is disabled in development. Let’s hope this returns to add further to the magnitude of customization available.

A common struggle during online racing is dealing with players who go out of their way to wreck races and generally cause havoc. In Project CARS 2, you’ll be able to sort your lobby to allow for a certain caliber of driver through the driver safety rating. You can also limit the skill of players to host more serious races online. Penalties will be variable, for those who wish to disable them accordingly.

With an exact release date still to be confirmed — though we’ve heard the goal is Septemberish — we’re eagerly taking in all information shared for Project CARS 2. Slightly Mad Studios has seemingly learned from the first iteration in the series and is looking to capture the sim racing community’s hearts when it launches in the latter half of this year. Keep it with GTPlanet for the latest in Project CARS 2 developments.

Project CARS 2 Gets the KTM X-Bow GT4

Project-CARS-2-KTM-X-Bow-GT4-02-638x399.jpg

Slightly Mad Studios has kicked off the week with another reveal of a car set to appear in Project CARS 2 later this year. After a selection of Nissans, a time attack Evolution VI, and the Jaguar XJR-9, the latest addition is the KTM X-Bow GT4.

KTM is an Austrian motorcycle manufacturer that specializes in producing all kinds of two-wheeled machinery, most of which is heavily inspired by the manufacturer’s success in the motocross discipline. The X-Bow was the firm’s first attempt to produce a fast, track-oriented sports car.

The GT4 is the latest iteration of the X-Bow, specially developed to be eligible for GT4 competitions. The most notable change in the car’s appearance is the addition of a closed cockpit, followed by a big wing mounted on the rear end. Estimated power coming from the 2.0 litre Audi engine is said to be over 330 hp, depending on event regulations.

Modern gamers should be no stranger to KTM’s selection of products. The X-Bow in particular has been seen in all of the latest driving games, including Gran Turismo 6, Assetto Corsa, and the Forza franchise. The original Project CARS also had it, so there is no doubt players will appreciate the step-up in performance the GT4 offers.

As always, check out the GTPlanet Q&A with Ian Bell thread to stay in touch with latest information on the development of Project CARS 2, which is set to arrive late 2017.

The Four Lancer Evolutions Coming to Project CARS 2

Slightly Mad Studios continues to expand the count of cars scheduled to appear in the upcoming Project CARS 2. This time it’s all about the traction, as four Lancer Evolution iterations grab the spotlight.

The Lancer Evolution VI Tommi Mäkinen Edition is considered by many fans to be one of the greatest models from the 20+ year history of the model. Named after the famous Finnish rally driver who won four consecutive WRC titles from 1996 to 1999, the machine introduced distinctive improvements on the interior as well as the exterior. Though it shares the same 2.0 turbocharged powerplant with the regular model, the unique appearance it was given made it a sought-after gem for years to come.

Perhaps the fastest road-going Evolution models can be spotted roaming around the United Kingdom. Special FQ models — it stands for exactly what you think it does — limited to the British market stand out primarily thanks to great increases in power. The Evo IX FQ-360 GSR in particular delivers 359 hp and has all the necessitates you would expect from a high-performance Evo, including Active Yaw Control and a six-speed gearbox.

If youth is something your heart desires, there is the Evolution X FQ-400, the newest (and last) of the breed. Pumping out over 400 hp and 398 lb-ft of torque, it can dash from zero to 60 mph in less than four seconds.

All these models made their appearance in the original Project CARS, but will be returning once more alongside the previously announced time attack Evolution VI by SVA. A small correction on that car from our last article: the power rating sits at 1,150 hp, not the measly 940 hp originally reported. It set quite a number of lap records during the 2015 Yokohama World Time Attack Challenge, so we don’t doubt it will be a real menace to compete against in Project CARS 2.

Catch more news on the development of Project CARS 2 by paying a visit to the GTPlanet Q&A with Ian Bell thread. Project CARS 2 is scheduled to appear on the global market later this year.
