Bayonetta dev announces Max Anarchy ( Platinum Games' new SEGA title revealed. )

Bayonetta and Vanquish developer Platinum Games is creating a new PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game for SEGA due out this year.

Max Anarchy is an online action game with support for a large number of players, Andriasang reports.

It is Platinum's first online combat game.

Screenshots in Japanese magazine Famitsu show characters wielding chainsaws and torches. Jack from Platinum's black and white (and red) gore-fest MadWorld is a playable character, although this time he will appear in full colour.

SEGA told Eurogamer this morning that more information on Max Anarchy will follow "later this week".

Last December SEGA West's executive vice president of sales and marketing Alan Pritchard revealed the Japanese company would publish another Platinum Games developed title, leading to speculation that Bayonetta 2 was set for a reveal.

SEGA has published each of the four Platinum Games' titles: MadWorld, Infinite Space, Bayonetta and, most recently, Vanquish.

Anarchy Reigns- Preview ( Anarchy in the UK. )

Sat in the railway-arched underbelly of a London club, we're watching a post-game demonstration of kick-boxing proficiency. One of the athletes has just mistimed his vertical leap out of the ring and hit the side-decking - specifically, he's landed directly on a point somewhere between his eye-socket and his cheekbone. Not everyone in the audience caught this moment, but those who did have assumed a collective wince. (...)

(...) Set in a Fallout-esque, apocalyptic wreckage of a city, the game is a sandbox environment for a brawler focused on team mentality every bit as much as the traditional, one-on-one duel to the death. (...)

(...) In Anarchy Reigns, these take the form of landscape-changing disasters: a giant saw-blade grinds through the streets, clearing as much scenery in its wake as it does flesh; an alert sounds and the action freezes as the camera shifts its focus to a tsunami building on the distant docks; or a suspension bridge collapses, providing a tactical overhaul of the battlefield. (...)

(...) So far we've only been given the most maddening tease of an insight into the potential for Anarchy Reigns, a game where Street Fighter takes inspiration from MadWorld, with a taste for the freeform violence of Grand Theft Auto. Scheduled for release later this year, we don't have too long to wait to get our fists bloody.

- Online multiplayer title
- Many players from around the world can play together
- MadWorld’s Jack Cayman will be in the game
- According to Inaba, the game’s online has been difficult to synchronize due to the fact that such a genre hasn’t been invented yet
- Single-player mode also available

Hmm, será a equipa do Madworld talvez a fazer isto.

Assim à primeiria vista parece genérico, o que não deixa de me surpreender na PG. Mas ainda é muito cedo para tirar mais conclusões.

Assim parece. ;)

Max Anarchy is Anarchy Reigns in Europe ( Vanquish, Bayonetta dev's next in autumn. )

SEGA and PlatinumGames (Vanquish, MadWorld, Bayonetta) have announced an autumn 2011 release date for Anarchy Reigns.

This is the game revealed yesterday as Max Anarchy in Japan.

It looks like a PS3 and Xbox 360 adaptation of MadWorld - the gory Wii game that may have been a little misunderstood next to cheery old Mario.

It's in development for PS3 and Xbox 360, and is described in SEGA's press release as a multiplayer brawler with Tag Team and Battle Royal modes.

Yesterday, producer Atsushi Inaba described Anarchy Reigns as a "massively multiplayer melee fighting action" online game.

Um APB de porrada? hmm

Fato do Sam e Long Swords do MH, strange combo.

Anarchy Reigns Story Mode Detailed
Take control of Mad World's Jack in the single player mode of Platinum's new online action title.

MadWorld's Jack is the main character in Anarchy Reigns.
Platinum and Sega unveiled Anarchy Reigns (known in Japan as Max Anarchy) a couple of weeks back but didn't really provide solid details on the game. Famitsu has just what we're looking for this week, with first details on the game's background story and story mode.

Anarchy Reigns is set in the far future. The world is, as always, in a state of chaos. Battles between nations for resources have sometimes developed into wars, complete with limited use of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons. Terrorism has also seen an increase. Peace and safety were forever lost. Viruses spread through the seas from developing countries and lead to the formation of diseases of unknown origin.

Humankind survived through the use of nano machines and the development of cybernetic organisms. But humanity was still unable to break free from chaos.

The story begins in the ruined city of Altanbra. This city serves as the play area. You'll find a variety of land forms and gimmicks. The big feature, though, is that the city will change in real time. Bridges will collapse, trailers will come crashing through, and there will even be natural disasters.

In the game's story mode, you take control of main character Jack, who comes to the game from Platinum's Wii title MadWorld. You'll lead Jack in exploration of Altanbra. Your main activity involves clearing missions that are given to you around the city. You can freely select whether or not you want to take these missions on, but clearing certain missions will advance the story.

Jack is a battle expert with special forces experience who makes use of a dual bladed chain saw. He's part of an organization called Chasers, who take on missions that the police can't solve. He's 75% cyborg. He was once a heavy smoker, but has quit.

Jack's chainsaw is named "Gator Tooth." It's what's known as a "Killer Weapon." The game's characters all have these special weapons which they're particularly adept at using.

Those characters include Big Bull, Zero and Sasha, all of whom were first introduced when Anarchy Reigns was first unveiled. In story mode, these characters serve as rivals who face off against Jack.

Famitsu provides some background details the three:

•Big Bull
Four years back, Big Bull suffered a great injury, so he got rid of his body and moved his brain into a cyborg body. His Killer Weapon is Jet Hammer.

•Zero
Zero wears a Nano Machine Suit, which strengthens his stealth abilities, allowing him to be good at sneaking missions. He's been fighting mutants and battle cyborgs in order to acquire data for the development of a new weapon. Zero is just his code name. His Killer Weapon is the twin blades Oni Maru and Juzu Maru.

•Sasha
An agent with the first strike team at the maximum security area of the Bureau of Public Safety. She's a master of BPS Fighting, a combat that makes use of a new Nano Machine Suit created by BPS. Her Killer Weapon is Snow Spikes.

When playing the game in online mode, all the characters mentioned here become playable. There will be other playable characters as well, Famitsu hints. Further details will come in a following update.

Anarchy Reigns is currently 75% complete, Famitsu reports. The game is due for Fall 2011 release.

A Matilda a dar porrada com o taco faz-me lembrar o Black Baron... Coitado do gajo.
