Trine is a fantasy action game where the player can create and use physics-based objects to beat hazardous puzzles and threatening enemies. Set in a world of great castles and strange machinery, three heroes are bound to a mysterious device called the Trine in a quest to save the kingdom from evil... The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics - each character's different ability helps the player battle an army of un-dead and defeat hazardous contraptions. The player can at any time freely choose whoever is best suited for the upcoming challenge or puzzle: The Wizard is able to summon objects to help solve puzzles and create new ways to overcome obstacles, the Thief uses her agility and dead-on accuracy to swiftly surprise the monsters, and the Warrior unleashes mayhem and physical destruction wherever he goes.

Mais originalidade a caminho da PS3 ;)

Out of nowhere today, the game Trine was announced for PSN... and one viewing of the trailer immediately had lots of people in the office buzzing. Seriously, if you haven't seen it yet, check this out: Trine 'Platforming' trailer HD

It's absolutely gorgeous, and seems reminiscent of classic 2D adventure/puzzle titles like Flashback, Out of This World, and Oddworld: Abe's Odyssey. Trine comes from Finnish developer Frozenbyte, with staff members who've worked on such titles as Super Stardust HD (in fact, the trailer's music definitely sounds like it's from Super Stardust HD composer Ari Pulkkinen).

According to the information released so far, the game has you creating and using physics-based objects to defeat enemies and get through puzzles (you can see this in the trailer). It features three heroes, each with his or her own abilities (the wizard summons objects, the thief uses agility, and the warrior offers physical destruction), and you can choose which one you want to use at any time.

The best news, though, is that it's not far off -- Trine will release in Spring of 2009. We can't wait to see more.

brutalissimo. consegue encostar o little big planet a um canto. um misto de personagens que mais facilmente veriamos num rpg com um estilo de jogo plataformas... muito bom. e o co-op parece-me fantastico.

compra certa :p

Trine XBLA Preview

June 3, 2009 - Frozenbyte recently revealed its next PlayStation Network game, Trine. Atlus has picked it up to publish on Xbox Live Arcade, and although it will be arriving after the PSN version there is a possibility it could have additional content. In any case, what we played today at Atlus' E3 booth should be indicative of Trine on both platforms.

This is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer starring three characters, each of which has a special ability. The warrior is best at combat and can use his giant shield to block attacks. The thief has a ranged attack and can swing across gaps. The wizard can levitate objects and summon useful items into play. Each character can be leveled up by collecting green gems. While playing a solo game you can switch between these three characters on the fly. But Trine also supports local drop-in/drop-out cooperative play.

One puzzle we saw involved a boulder that was dangling on a string. It was attached to a rolling vehicle through the ceiling above and the wizard can move the car so that the boulder smashes a wall standing in the way. In another example, the wizard can stand on a block and levitate it to reach a higher platform. It remains to be seen how well balanced all three characters will be, because so far the wizard seems to be the most useful.

Trine PSN costs half of PC version, scheduled for July release

By now, you're probably familiar with the ambitious, multiplayer puzzle-platformer, Trine. Shacknews is reporting that the upcoming PC version of the game will have an "official" price of $40, with Steam pre-ordershttp://store.steampowered.com/app/35700/ available for a discounted $30. (Check out a downloadable demo at BigDownloadhttp://www.bigdownload.com/games/trine/pc/trine-demo/.) Those who want to experience Trine in the most affordable way possible will want to download the PSN version of the game, priced at $20.

Obviously, that's a rather high price point for a downloadable game. However, developer Frozenbyte says the high production values merit the sticker tag. "Trine is far from a game created by a solo hero developer (we have over 20 employees and Trine has contributions from a double amount of people) ... we are very confident that we can deliver a full retail experience with Trine."

Our early impressions of the game suggest Frozenbyte is right. We'd much rather buy this than, say, the equally priced Watchmen: The End is Nighhttp://www.joystiq.com/2009/03/04/joystiq-review-watchmen-the-end-is-nigh/. While an official PSN date isn't set, the publisher is expecting a July release. An Xbox 360 versionhttp://www.joystiq.com/2009/06/04/atlus-publishing-trine-on-xbla/ of the game, which will support online co-op (a feature not included in the initial PC or PSN releases), is also in the works.
