Qual o melhor Red Hat ou Mandrake

Se fores n00b Red hat , se fores um utilizador com mais expriencia então a opção sem duvida mandrake.

Antigamente era o contrário...
E quase que me arriscava a dizer que ainda se mantém...
 
Olha que não , com as ultimas versões do RH puff too easy , mas o mandrake ja' anda mt winmode tb :| , alias qs todos agoram andam mais winmode :( , mas o red hat e' o que se aproxima mais
 
Se a última do Red Hat é a 9.0 é a que eu costumo/costumava usar, mas tb aqui tenho o Mandrake 9.2 e aquilo tb é "fácil"...
Pelo menos nas cenas "noobs" que eu mexo. Acho que estão mto idênticos. Longe vai o tempo das coisas realmente dificeis, agora até são mais fáceis de instalar que o Windows! :p
 
Acho que estas duas ditros estão mto equivalentes.
Antigamente usava-se mto o Red Hat e quem não usasse e tal e coiso... :P
O Mandrake era para "bébés" e o caraças, agora a febre do Red Hat já está a passar e o Mandrake está a ficar mais conhecido e não apenas pela sua facilidade, ou melhor por ser mais "user friendly".
Acho que o melhor é mm testares os 2 e veres por ti.

A partir de agora só vão sair versões para servidor ( saiu à pouco O RH ES 3 ).
Para máquinas cliente existe o Fedora que é uma especie do que foi o mozilla para a Netscape.

O Fedora já saiu o Core 1 ( ftp://ftp.cprm.net/.disk1/ftp.redhat.com/fedora/linux/core/1/i386/iso/yarrow-binary-i386-iso/ ) . São 3 cd's.

O RH ES 3 são 4 cd's.

For some people, the name Fedora will not be a familiar name, for others (Red Hat Linux or OS enthusiasts), Fedora could (In some ways) be considered to be the 'new' Red Hat Linux 9.x or 10 release, the not so long awaited sequel to Red Hat Linux 9, which came out in late March 2003. However, Fedora Core 1 is not Red Hat Linux 10

I can summarise my experience with Fedora as being a mixed bag of emotions, in some cases it surprises pleasantly (resolution changing for one, and the half-gui boot up) but in other cases there is nothing obviously apparent about this release that hits you in the face with that WOW factor (GNOME looks essentially the same as it did since Red Hat 8.0 came out more or less). Yes there is the ability for up2date to use Yum and APT repositories but for users unfamiliar with that technology then is that really something to go 'hey look what this can do?' The very act of updating software is usually to fix something that is broken or to add new features or to apply a security update, if the use of Yum could/can fix the lack of MP3 functionality (for example) then I'll give it my thumbs up, if not, then big deal.

Please don't get me wrong, I am not criticising Fedora, far from it, I really really like this distribution, I think it is very professionally done and worthy of a download and installation, however, there are going to be a lot of Linux newbies disappointed initially by the lack of included MP3 functionality and DVD/Video playback, and adding that functionality back will not be straightforward for those people (until clear and easy to follow HOWTO's start popping up on the internet).

Ou seja, está "gira", mas ainda está verde. Faltam-lhe algumas coisas "essenciais" para poder substituir completamente outro S.O.
 
Só espero que independentemente da distro que ela reconheça o hardware que têm. Caso contrário vão dizer mal do Linux para sempre. Depois tem outras coisas como não dar para por acentos
btw Suse 9.0 in the house:P
 
Supostamente o Mandrake 9.2 tem suporte para o Alcatel Speedtouch USB e mm assim não consigo por isto a funcionar!!! :005:
Isto é que é tramado!! :(
