We've been waiting to find out more details on Radeon Software Crimson Edition, a.k.a. the new AMD Catalyst driver, and how it will affect the Linux support... Well, apparently there are some hefty performance boosts in store.

With some slides leaked on VideoCardz.com today, they're indicating significant performance gains for not only Windows but Linux too. Among the performance improvements cited under Linux with Radeon Software Crimson are for Bioshock Infinite, Total War, Portal 2, and Dota 2. The gains are from 112% to 155% faster than the current Catalyst Linux driver.

Tomorrow we should learn more about Radeon Software Crimson Edition for Linux. Of course, once released you can expect a variety of new benchmarks on Phoronix.
